Ginny Cullen has taken her two boys, Daniel and Josh, on a dream holiday, thanks to some dream fundraising. Sue and Steve from the Albion Tavern in Kenilworth organised a range of fundraising events and collections and in just three months the small public house raised 拢1500. Daniel has regular medical treatment They have backed a number of charities over the past few years and were very keen to help Ginny when they heard about how hard she works to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis support and research. Cystic Fibrosis is the UK's most common, life-threatening, inherited disease, affecting over 7,500 people in the UK, half of which are under 15 years old. Each week five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis. Ginny has been working tirelessly organising fashions shows, talks and other events to fundraise and now is even in training to do her first ever marathon to help the Cystic Fibrosis Trust charity. Josh and Daniel at the airport Daniel, her youngest son, has the disease. It affects his vital organs, like lungs and digestive system, makes it difficult to breathe and digest food and increasing his chances of suffering lung infections and weight loss. Like many with the disease, his frequent and prolonged visits to hospital have an effect on his education and social life, as well as impacting on the family. A holiday is just what Ginny and her boys needed and New York was the exciting destination they chose. last updated: 06/06/2008 at 12:29 You are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Your Films > Dream trip for fundraisers |
