Rebecca is scared to reveal her identity

In this moving video, we are given a rare insight into the situation of a young person facing homelessness. Rebecca had to leave her broken parental home at 16 years old and found herself sleeping on various friend's sofas until she eventually moved into a hostel in Atherstone.

Rebecca's support worker visits

In her story she describes the fear and loneliness of that time, but also shares the positive aspects, as even at her lowest point she managed to complete her GSCE exams.

She was supported through this period - practically and emotionally - by a youth worker from Doorway. The charity, which works with homeless people in North Warwickshire, was able to employ a worker specifically for the under 18 age group, thanks to funds from the 成人快手's Children In Need.

As Rebecca says in the video, it's eye-opening to see the breadth of work and the importance of both Doorway and Children In Need, to our local teenagers and not just to small children.
