Drum 'n' Bass nights throughout the South West always draw the crowds, but it's only the second time the region will host its own awards ceremony for the music.

The event will take place on Saturday 26 January, but the voting has opened now.

Drum 'n' Bass has its roots in the UK rave scene of the early '90s. Its focus is on fast breakbeats and deep basslines, which form the main musical elements of the tracks.

Any accompanying samples, sounds or instruments are often provided as a background to the beats and bass.

It may have been going for more than 16 years, but this is just the second time DnB clubbers have had the chance to 'big up' their favourite DJs and clubs in Cornwall and Devon.

The categories include:

Best National DJ, Best Local DJ, Best National MC, Best Local MC, Best Regular DnB Night, Best one-off DnB event, and Best South West DnB Shop.
