Coffee with James

Cornish singer/songwriter James Morrison has made a dream come true for a young cancer sufferer. Natalie Edwards is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma disease. The surprise visit was set up by Cornish charity Tanya's Courage Trust.

For 17-year-old Natalie Edwards meeting James Morrison is something she'll never forget.

Natalie met the singer before his sell out concert at the Hall for Cornwall.

"He made me a cup of coffee, not many people can say they've had coffee made by James Morrison," smiles Natalie. "He was really down to earth. I went to the sound check too. It was all amazing."

Natalie also went to watch the show, and had a song dedicated to her by James Morrison.

"He spoke to the audience and said he'd met me today, and that he was going to dedicate 'Wonderful World' to me, and I burst into tears," says Natalie.

A special message from James Morrison

"The first verse of the song sums up how I feel. He thought it through, and picked the right song. I thank him very much for that."

The meeting was organised by Tanya's Courage Trust, a St Austell based charity set up in memory of teenager Tanya Billing.

Tanya lost her brave battle against leukaemia at the age of 17. Her family now organise special days for other young cancer sufferers in Cornwall.

Natalie is currently undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

"I'm lucky really as I have chemo every two weeks and some people have it every week," she says. "I am now on my fifth chemo, it's getting worse and worse as it goes. But I look on the bright side and I only have two left."

Natalie's mum Jacqui Edwards says meeting James Morrison has really lifted her daughter's spirits.

"I want to send a special thank you to James and his family, they don't realise what they have done for Natalie. She's gone from a little mouse to a lion. I'd like to send a warm thank you from the bottom of my heart to them all."

Throughout her treatment Natalie has been keeping a diary. She plans to launch a website in the near future, which she hopes will help other young cancer sufferers in Cornwall.
