It was a JFK moment. Everyone remembers where they were when Alan first said 'A-ha!' There was definitely a new chat in town!
Episode One. House band: Glenn Ponder and Chalet

Alan's first guest: Show Jumper Sue Lewis
Is a horse like its owner? Well, horses aren't very good at conversation, so yes in this case. Sue utterly failed to get into the spirit of live TV, refusing to take part in a surprise spot called 'Up Alan's Sleeve' in which she was asked to jump a gate in the studio. It could have been a spectacular moment. Despite the laconic Sue, Alan was determined not to get wrong-hoofed.
Alan's second guest: Lively Presenter Keith Hunt.
Keith rocketted from absolute obscurity at Radio Leeds to the heady heights of This Is Your Life, largely thanks to his catchphrase 'Am I Right?' (we reply) 'You're Not Wrong!' Another visit Up Alan's Sleeve produced Keith's son Sam. Like an idiot Keith had forgotten the boy's birthday. Luckily Alan was on hand with a 'tie and blazer badge' combination pack and a trip to Disneyland to cheer the lad up.
Alan's third guest: Shona McGough (and Band)
She seemed so right for the show. But then Shona let everyone down. Her song about domestic bliss turned nasty, as did she, ripping off her wig and dress and thrusting her pelvis into the camera. Alan professionally endured the song but left Shona and the band in no doubt that they would not be invited back.
Alan's final guest: Roger Moore
The grand finale was 'An Audience with Roger Moore', held in a special Roger Moore room. No expense was spared on props. Alan had a gold finger, a third nipple and even a white cat. Sadly Roger was stuck in traffic. Shona and Keith became somewhat unruly at this point and while Alan could understand their disappointment he had to use some sharp words to keep them in their place. Words like 'up yours' and 'kiss my a***.'
