Village Water is a small charity dedicated to improving access to safe water, hygiene, and sanitation for those who most need it. We work with local partners in Mozambique and Zambia by supporting sustainable local solutions to reach everyone, leaving no one behind.

Big thanks to garden historian Advolly Richmond for presenting our Radio 4 Appeal - we were overwhelmed by the generous support from listeners who donated over £32,700. Thank you!

Your support can go a long way, and that’s why we featured 7 de Abril school in Mozambique for our appeal.

7 de Abril school now has a solar water system - providing year-round safe water - and private toilets, and showers. We funded girls' clubs and training that will change behaviour over the long term by promoting good hygiene and sanitation habits while also destigmatizing menstruation.

It’s hard to imagine a greater impact on the 9,346 pupils - no more waiting in the queue - and especially for girls like Gabriella, highlighted in our appeal, who will no longer have to stay away from school during menstruation.

We're not stopping, though! This year, your contributions will help fund water, hygiene, and sanitation provision - including a new solar-powered water system - for 25 de Setembro Primary School in Mozambique, and pump rehabilitations for 435 villages across Mozambique and Zambia.

We've touched the lives of over 900,000 people to date. But what really inspires us is knowing each person we reach will now have access to clean and safe water, which in turn will lead to better futures for girls, families, and communities.
