Preparing for Christmas
Christmas (25th December) is a Christian holy day that marks the birth of Jesus, the son of God. Christmas is Katie and Hannah's favourite time of the year. They countdown to Christmas using an advent calendar. Advent is an important part of the Christian calendar. It means 'coming' and it's the period before Christmas which celebrates the birth of Jesus. It is all about preparing for Christmas Day. Advent starts on the Sunday nearest to 30th November - four weekend's before Christmas. In 2024 advent starts on Sunday 1st December and will be observed until Tuesday 24th December.聽
To show their love Katie and Hannah make a Christmas card聽to give to their mum and dad. They also wrap presents to take to the church for children that might not get presents at Christmas. Charity is important to Christians especially at Christmas time.
