HB just dropped a surprise practical potions exam on me. It’s in five hours. I am DOOMED!

Maud to the rescue! She gave me this book that’s basically How to Witch Well 101. Think I’ve found something that will do the job ☺

Wow, this is a breeze. I’m gonna be fine!

Thanks to the spell, I did so much work that I needed to relax. I earned this chill out time. I could stay in bed forever!

I don’t remember how to do a single transformation spell! Maud just told me it only works if you actually feed your memory with knowledge! Maybe I shouldn’t have had such a long nap…

Looks like I’ve got a lot of work to do – wish me luck!

She disappeared into a cloud of purple smoke and we eventually found her on the roof. She was fine, just confused! I think that\u2019s where I went wrong. I tried to revise for hours on end and I just fell asleep on my books! Not the comfiest pillow! This time, I\u2019ll take plenty of breaks and stretch my legs. If I don\u2019t, I\u2019ll end up dozing off again\u2026 Whoops!

Make up a catchy song so the things you are trying to remember stay in your head! Get your friends to test you fairly frequently so things stay in your head. My top tip for revising is listening to your teacher and most of the time some thing interesting actually comes out of their mouth! Think about it, you\u2019re learning how to cast a spell, it must be fun. You might not get this, but I say you should think of it this way: last one to the tower is mouldy custard! Indigo Moon reply reads Well met! I used to think spell casting was fun, until I had to learn all these potions. I wonder if there\u2019s a way of making it into a game, like you say? I could time myself to pick the right potion ingredients, then race up to the tower. I could start a new Cackle\u2019s record!

I might feel like slime about my F in potions, but you\u2019re right. I got a B in chanting and I\u2019d doing really well at witch ball. Maybe I should focus on the things I\u2019m good at, instead of dwelling on things I\u2019m not?
U18106203 comment reads When you are writing stuff down make it colourful or tidy, I suggest you use highlighters and colour code text to remember it, overall make it wonderful for your taste and maybe add some doodles relating to the topic! Indigo Moon reply reads Well met! Thanks for the advice. I know someone who is magic at doodling\u2026 literally! Millie used to sketch all kinds of things in her potions book until HB found out. I\u2019ll ask her for exam help in the form of magical doodles! That way I\u2019ll remember the potions from the pictures!
WolfLover comment reads You could try using these things called 'flash cards'. You write a spell on one side and the answer on the other. Indigo Moon reply reads ell met, WolfLover. Sounds like flash cards could do with a witching make-over? Maybe I could enchant the words to shine? Hmm, on second thought, no more magical shortcuts. Plain old flash cards will probably work better. Thanks!
