Ways to feel some positive Christmas cheer
It's Christmas! Here are some top tips for feeling good during the festive season.

1. Appreciate the simple things
It’s easy to get carried away with all the fuss and excitement – but sometimes it’s the little things which bring us joy; the way fairy lights twinkle, a bright blue winter sky, feeling snuggly in a scarf…

2. Try not to over-indulge!
Sure, you can treat yourself – it’s Christmas! But tackling three selection boxes and then a bowl of pudding? It’s only going to end up in someone feeling more than a little bit queasy…

3. Spread a little cheer
It may be cold outside, but there’s nothing like doing a good deed to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Even a little thing – looking out for someone, offering to share your mince pie or wishing your neighbour a Merry Christmas – can feel great.

4. Chill with a good book
When everyone around you is going Christmas crazy, grab a little quiet time by escaping into a story – a book can take you anywhere!

5. Don’t compare
Whether it’s presents, how tall a tree is, how many cards you got... it’s not a competition! Don’t worry about the amazing time everyone else is having (or says they’re having) – just concentrate on making the most of your own Christmas.

6. Make a Christmas list
Not of all the things you want, but of all the things you’ve got to be thankful for this Christmas; sometimes it’s good just to stop to appreciate the people and things which make you happy.

7. Sing a song
Whether it’s a carol or a cheesy 80s pop classic, sing along with your favourite Christmas tune – nobody’s listening!
