1. Find free things to do
Ever heard the phrase 'the best things in life are free'? It’s true! Going for a walk or a bike ride with mates, or even having a movie night at home can be just as fun as going out – and saves you pennies!

2. Set a goal
It’s very easy to spend money the second you have it in your pocket, especially if a new game just came out! But before spending, stop and think about something you really want. By setting a goal of saving for a particular thing, it might help you keep the cash in your pocket.

3. Budget
It’s not all about spending! Start up a saving jar or get a piggy bank, or even an envelope – anything that will keep your money safe. Take a note every time you take something out. That way you know exactly what you are spending and won’t over go over your budget!

4. Make your own snacks
Why don’t you get your Mary Berry hat (or apron) on and cook up some home-made snacks that will last the whole week? You will save money and impress your mates with your tasty treats!

5. Have a clear-out
You’d be surprised what gets lost under beds and in wardrobes over the year.
Having a clear-out is a great way to see what you actually have and what you actually need. It’ll save you spending on unnecessary things like that new purple t-shirt you thought you really wanted, even though you’ve got 10 already!
