Barclay Littlewood runs one of the many websites that cater for students prepared to pay for help with their essays, rather than spend hours poring over books in a college library. UKessays.com has been running for three years.听 The website offers essays from 拢120 for one thousand words, going up to 拢4,000. "There's nothing wrong with using a company like this. It's about HOW you use us that counts" | Barclay Littlewood, UKessays.com |
Littlewood claims that the majority of visitors to the website are Cambridge University students, who can pick up anything from essays to dissertations on every subject imaginable.听 He points out that students from the University are not necessarily the biggest users of the service, but they do log on more often than students from other universities. Speaking to 成人快手 Radio Cambridgeshire, Littlewood says that the service offered by his website is "a research tool on which to base your own original work".听 "To avoid plagiarism you have to use creative and original thought and of course, do your own research," he says. Littlewood says that a lot of struggling students come to his site looking for a model answer on which to base their own work.听 Conversely, he says that many able students visit the site AFTER they have completed their essays, looking for extra pointers which might help them to gain just a few extra marks. "So we're seeing a lot of very able students coming to use us with honest intentions, and that's what the company's about. "It's a bit like buying a question and answer book," he continues.听 "You're buying a specific opinion on a subject, and based on that, you create your own piece of work." Littlewood says that he's very keen to see legislation to protect honest users as well as curb the dishonest use of cash-for-essays websites. He claims that there are a number of sites that actively encourage students to hand in paid-for essays as their own work, but says that the vast majority of such companies are based overseas. The Commons Education Select Committee has announced that a special session will be held in the autumn to investigate the problem of online cash-for-essays. |
