Esther
Esther in contemplative mood!

All about Esther!

Hey! I'm Esther but I've been nicknamed Estar, because well, I am a star! I'm the Blast reporter in West Yorkshire and I'll be letting you all know about what's going down, who's on their way up and basically things to do to have an awesome summer!

NAME: Esther Miller.

You may know me as Estar, Ginge (even though I'm not a redhead anymore!) or ERM? They're my initials!

AGE: 19 even though I act more on the lines of a 9 year old! (23rd June 1987)

Esther: Ice Cream? No thanks!

BORN AND BRED: I was born in Bradford Royal Infirmary after a long 48 hour struggle to escape the womb! We moved to a small village called 'windy' Wainstalls on top of a mountain near Halifax when I was little and I'm still there.

I went to a local school for local people and then Calder High School and Sixth Form where I have just finished after three years! Whooooo!

LIKES: Making films, especially skating videos, because skating is awesome. I luuurve blading, even though I blade with a cushion strapped to my bum to stop it bruising when I fall over!

I really love my tunes, especially hip hop, drum and bass and experimental because you can dance around like a mad head to it!

Eating…that really should have come first! I think I should become a food tasterÌý - hmmmm!

DISLIKES: Ice cream…Yes, I am strange!

INTERESTING FACT: When I go bog eyed I get stuck like that for a couple of minutes! No, I don't fall for the watch my finger coming towards your nose trick anymore!

MORE ABOUT ME:Ìý I have made a couple of films and documentaries for college and one won an award! Get in! I want to be a film director or piece films together. I used to dance for a dance company in Leeds and they taught me how to spin on my head and bend into strange shapes! I have a few tattoos and plan to go under the needle again when I get some monies much to the dismay of my parents. But they are addictive!

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE ALLITERATIVE WORDS: Serious (at times), Silly (most of the time) and Sarcastic!

Damien Barber
I cam across you via the Blast Dance page. The Demon Barbers are launching a new show in Sep at The Priestley in Bradford. The Demons repertoire is a modern take on traditional English music and the new show incorporates traditional English Dance ...sounds like your worst nightmare?! Its always difficult to explain - the folkies call it folk-rock but its not really. Here's a quote that hopefully sums us up “with The Demon Barbers’ driven punchy tunes & songs, drum ‘n’ bass grooves, the odd touch of ska and an ever present feel that this lot know how to party, the result is one of the most exciting acts around...check them out for proof that England’s exciting, phwoar-inducing, evolving dance, song and instrumental traditions are thriving, live and very kicking." fRoots Well that's what fRoots say anyway... We're launching the new show on 14th Sep..We've also got plans for another much larger show that will be launched in 3 or 4 years time and we're holding a workshop at Dance Yorkshire's studios in Leeds in Nov. We want to try and get and as many young dancers from all genres to come along, see what we're doing and hopefully work with them to create it.
