This very long and drawn out wait for the new Does It Offend You Yeah album has faded somewhat with a new song leaked online today. 'We Are The Dead' has been offered up as a free download to fans as a way of saying thanks for their patience, enjoy.

Tonight's Hottest record sums up Chapel Club right now. Lots of urgency and drive on this record but also very thoughtful and dynamic. We like this band and if you do to, check them out at Reading and Leeds this weekend.

This will be a a week Carl Barat will never forget. The long awaited return of his first love the Libertines to the main stage at Reading and Leeds would be reason enough. Add to that his all important first step towards creative independence, 'Run With The Boys'. Those important years spent touring the worlds with his friends are clearly evident here, but more importantly the song is a signal towards his future. Nights of the sound table ride again. One of my favourite rock bands return with an unreleased song that will feature on their forthcoming compilation. To hear these four in full flow once again reminds me of one simple fact: that no one sounds anything like them and no one ever will. A true cornerstone in the world of rock and roll. Soundgarden rule!

Delivering a slice of pop that is very welcome right now; Frankie and The Heartstrings give us their perspective on one of the most common subjects in song-writing. Heartbreak -'Ungrateful' does it well.

Those unstoppable Swedes. It's like they have shares in the Hottest Record market. No back handed business dealings going on here though, just undeniably brilliant club bangers. Swedish House Mafia and now Pryda have it completely locked down right now. And my record box thanks them for that.

So good we had to play it twice, this new Wombats single is a bigger and bolder sound from this trio . Which is to be expected when you collaborate with a producer who's credits include Queens of the Stone Age. Don't expect rock action though, this is 'a perfect pop-rock single' from a band who know how to write them.

Mark Ronson bags another Hottest Record tonight with his most 'Version' friendly single 'The Bike Song'. After turning in a star performance with Mark at The Electric Proms a couple of years back, it's nice to hear Kyle from The View flexing his soul chops on this feel good hit of the summer.

So good we had to play it twice tonight, as part of our ibiza mix tape and also in the hottest record dpt we welcome back Swedish House Mafia member and superstar in his own right, Steve Angello. 'Knas' is just another flawless slice of club from these impeccable Swedes. They feel unstoppable right now.

We've been really spoilt for club recently. From the hugeness of Swedish House Mafia related anthems, through to tonight's thoughtful take on dubstep from one of deeper proponents, Breakage. Underworld benefits from a change in BPM and an increase in sub-bass. Another great example of a brilliant original and a crafty remix.

So there's no doubt that Dubstep is riding a wave of popularity right now. Bigger records and no doubt bigger tunes on the way.
But we always keep a very keen ear for anything hot from the original, maverick art form of drum and bass. And when it comes to drum and bass, few labels could stake a bigger claim in its existence than Ram Records. Andy C has spearheaded another project of cinematic, dark quality. It's tonight's hottest record.

Detractors will tell you that Linkin Park are just a nu-metal band. Some kind of manufactured group that walk the line between pop and rock efficiently. While it's true, Linkin Park have achieved great success with a focus and drive normally reserved for professional sports teams, they are also very good at what they do. Almost ten years of near perfect pop rock anthems have earnt them huge album sales but most importantly, huge loyalty. It is a dedication to their fans and a constant creative evolution that has helped keep this afloat. On that basis 'The Catalyst' is a triumphant return for this career band.
