Happy Holiday

It's a bit like a holiday not getting up before 5am, as I usually do.

I'm working on a special project today which means a 9.30am start! Woohoo...

But I feel your pain. I know that more and more Americans are getting up at 5am or earlier. The Wall Street Journal says more people need to get up earlier to get ahead of the curve, to get work done without distractions, or to beat the traffic.

The new software format, as you see, will make it much easier for you to comment on the stories we cover.

We want your opinions, sure. But we also hope you'll share your experiences.

The software also makes it much easier for me to post as we put the programme together and even while we're on air.

When we travel, the flexibility of the new blogware will enable pictures and other media.

So join in - I'll be monitoring throughout the day.

Even in my not very wealthy part of North London, there are now five within reach of my laptop, all with good signals.

Two of the five are open. I can use them, and surf the Internet for free.

Of course I don't, I'm too much of a goody two shoes for that.

But if I wanted to I could.
