fans226.jpgAs you may have noticed - from a if absolutely nothing else - the is nearly upon us. Just two weeks from today the , against , in Johannesburg's newly-built Soccer City. And so, launching at the same time, will be the a new programme on the World Service - World Cup Have Your Say.

Don't worry, it won't be replacing - you'll still have the chance to debate the big topics in the news as normal. This is something different - your chance to have your say on the world's biggest football tournament, at 0800 GMT every day during the World Cup - with an extra edition at 1830 GMT for those in Africa.

The teams are now beginning to arrive in South Africa - Brazil are the latest to touch down. Soon, ours will be there too - Ros will be presenting the show from Soweto; Mark and Fiona will be there running it alongside him. I've joined the team in London especially for the programme, having just finished about the World Cup. It's fair to say I'm already very excited.

We will, of course, be wanting to hear from you and your views on everything happening at the tournament - which promises to be one of the most spectacular ever staged. The goals, the greats - and the grim emotions as, one by one, 31 nations have their hopes dashed for another four years. We want your thoughts on the big moments, be they of , , or .

And just as World Have Your Say is not your average phone-in show, we want World Cup Have Your Say to be something really special too. We will be taking a wider look at South Africa - what the tournament means to the people there, how it might change the country, and even what people who can't stand football might be doing to avoid the wall-to-wall (and indeed, floor-to-ceiling) coverage...

We will be opening with a very special event in Soweto on 10 June, and there will be more details of how you'll be able to get involved with that shortly. Meanwhile, World Have Your Say have kindly allowed us to share their blog - together with their and - and their phone numbers (+44 20 70 83 72 72 on phone, +44 77 86 20 60 80 on text). So, come the kick-off, whatever way you want to get in touch, you can use exactly the same ways you already know.

I can't wait. See you very soon!
