A Muslim mission impossible?

Ros Atkins Ros Atkins | 16:02 UK time, Thursday, 28 June 2007

We've had such a fantastic response to Lubna's appearance on yesterday's show. Messages came in from Japan, Gambia, Germany and America to name but four countries. If you missed it, she lives in Baghdad and turned 21 yesterday. Having lost two close friends in the past fortnight, she understandably didn't see too much to celebrate. I think you helped change her mind on that.

On to today's show....

WHAT CAN A US ENVOY TO THE MUSLIM WORLD ACHIEVE?
I saw flash on the news wires when I was on air yesterday and had a feeling you might want to talk about this. President Bush has announced that the US will have an envoy to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (which is a coalition of Muslim countries).

Mr Bush has said that the envoy to the OIC would "listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states" and "share with them America's views and values". Do you think it's worth someone doing the job?

WHAT IS THE THREAT TO VENEZUELA?
Hugo Chavez is eyeing some . He's considering buying some Russian helicopters and subs (which could make for the biggest sub fleet in South America), to add to the fighter planes, helicopters and assault rifles he's already bought from the Russians. Remember that the US and its allies won't sell arms to Venezuela.

So why does President Chavez need to increase his country's armoury? Does the threat come from America, neighbouring Colombia, or is it as much about an internal threat? Maybe you think there's no threat at all...

ARE YOU WILLING TO SPICE UP YOUR LIFE?
Just when the UK had started to recover from the spectacular success of Take That's comeback (a super-successful 90s boy-band which gave the world Robbie Williams for those of you who haven't had the pleasure), the Spice Girls have . If you're in China, Argentina, the UK, the US, Spain, Germany, South Africa and Australia - you've got a choice to make. Will you be buying a ticket?

WHAT YOU DO WHEN WE'RE ON AIR
Sarah in New York says she listens at her desk at work, and sometimes gets her colleagues to gather round. Now that's commitment Sarah. If you'd like to tell us what you do when you listen this is where to go.

Speak to you later.
