Bryce in Portland

Ros Atkins Ros Atkins | 19:41 UK time, Thursday, 3 May 2007

Hi my name is Bryce Baker, I am 23, and I live in Portland, Oregon in the USA. I am a bookkeeper for an accounting company. I listen to World Have Your Say every day at work while I am balancing the company books....

In my free time I love to spend as much time as possible in the outdoors. I have a wonderful Fiancée named Devon who helped read emails from WHYS when they came in to town and we are getting married this summer. In my area there are many rivers and lakes for fishing and many mountains and hills for hiking so I do a lot of both of those things. I also play a lot of computer games and consider myself a techie.

Portland is an amazing place. We are located on the confluence of two great rivers, the Willamette and the Columbia. We get a lot of rain every year so our state is very green and beautiful. Portland is an hour from Mount Hood with year round skiing and an hour and a half from the Pacific Ocean with miles of beautiful beaches. We take our environment very seriously and Portland is consistently voted one of the most sustainable cities in the country. I have lived here all my life and plan to live here for the rest of my days.

I discovered WHYS while listening to our local public radio station Oregon Public Broadcasting. I most enjoy listening when the discussion focuses on matters of international affairs between countries and how people from both countries perceive whatever is going on. My only complaint about WHYS is that it isn’t longer! If only there was two hours every day, but I guess if the show was two hours I would wish that it was three hours long, I can’t get enough WHYS.
