Very passionate and correct
Words that could be applied to the World Have Your Say team and listenership of course, but were actually used yesterday by the manager of football team Roma to describe his team's fans. As soon as I can get a picture or two to upload here, you can see for yourself the scenes from last night's game against Manchester United. It's not that the violence wasn't expected, Man United wrote letters to fans travelling to the game warning of attacks by Rome's "Ultras", something which annoyed the Major of Rome, who promised fans would be visiting a "calm and welcoming" city. We were going to talk about this on yesterday's show but we didn't have time following news of the release of the captured British sailors. Would you like to hear reaction today? Oh, the result by the way, 2 - 1 to Roma, but a crucial away goal from Wayne Rooney means the European dream isn't over for United just yet...
Iran
The captured sailors return to England today, we heard reaction yesterday and will be keeping a close eye on developments today. The front page of , has both countries as the "winner" depending which way up you have it, pretty much sums up the debates being played out by the world's media. Would you like to hear more speculation on how this deal was done and who has come out on top?
Ashamed to be Australian
Australian cricketer Ian Thorpe uttered these words at a press conference. Nothing to do with being from the country that brought the world and , but because of his country's treatment of Aborigines.
"Australians are very generous people. If every Australian knew what was going on we would make a difference and make a change quicker than any of us expects to make". We would love to hear more from Thorpe on this issue, and of course, your opinions. Are you Australian? Do you know much about this issue, and like Thorpe, do you feel ashamed? If you're not Australian, is there anything that makes you ashamed of your country?
