Is it a happy birthday Fidel?
Alright, I know it was August the 13th but in Cuba itself they're their leader's 80th this week. We thought we'd mark it with a Cuba special today...here's Anna's original post on our guest . The show will be co-presented with Ros in London and Emilio San Pedro in Miami.
And we want to hear from you...so no change there... Two questions seem to be dominating...
1. HAS AMERICAN POLICY TOWARDS CUBA FAILED?
Has it become an American obession that does neither country any good? Or is America right to keep Fidel and his country at a long arms length?
2. IS FIDEL CASTRO ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREAT LEADERS?
He's the longest-serving leader in the world but has he served his countrymen and women well? Has he managed the well? Has he provided Cubans with proper human rights? Are those that call his regime correct?
We'll bring together as many people who are in Cuba (that's difficult) and people who have been to Cuba (that's easier). If you'd like to be involved in the show, post here, leave your number and we'll get in touch.
HIV / AIDS
We've been discussing whether we should be talking about . We've decided against it today but that's got nothing nto do with us thinking it's not something you want to talk about. We're going to spend a little time preparing a show devoted to the subject. Our idea is to have the show hosted by 3 or 4 of you around the world who have HIV / AIDS and have you talk with whoever wants to come on the show about personal experiences of having HIV /AIDS as well as the quality of treatment available in your country. If you'd like to take part, please drop us a line.
