It's There...

Typical, cautious start to a World Cup eh?. Just the 6 goals in the match and another couple in the game.
A couple of things struck us here at WCHYS:
- what happened to the ref's clampdown then? twice i saw the ref in the Germany match signal that a player had dived (both Germans) and twice no yellow card was shown...
- they weren't kidding about the ball were they? I was wondering if they'd credit the ball with an assist for Frings' goal at the end (tho' it was a cracker)..
- TV panellists here were very down on the standard of football in the Poland game, but i quite enjoyed it.....do we expect too much?
All this, and whatever you want to talk about in a few hours..

I was watching the England VS Paraguay game. England [with Beckham] managed to score a first goal within the first three minutes. Unfortunately, humidity and high temperature contributed to a game in slow motion with Paraguay having problems in getting their act together and England maintaining it one to zero goal. The classification for Group B will depend on the game between Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago.
Regardless, I want to congradulate England on its first victory in the Cup.

The Group A Games in the opening sessions [Germany VS Costa Rica; Ecuador VS Poland] were better than the Group B Games [England VS Paraguay; Sweden VS. Trinidad & Tobago]

After a lackluster game from Sweden VS Trinidad and Tobago, Group C started with a roar. Argentina ripped through with the goals and the games. Ivory Coast was able to show that they have World Cup Potential. Ivory Coast managed to leave one goal before losing one to two to Argentina. Group C is going to be a group to watch.
