Hares and a dawn chorus

Some of the behind-the-scenes filming I shot to support a forthcoming nature programme - showing how fast hares can run have just been uploaded on our new-look Wales Nature portal.

There are two films to watch; producer Steve Freer explains more about the filming process and presenter Iolo Williams talks about a leveret (a baby hare) we spotted in the fields off , in the shadow of the sprawling .

It was a fascinating day and Steve explains more in the Nature Diary. We must have walked miles around the fields - and lugging our kit - and it was getting harder to find the hares who, by now, were on to us.
