Consumers are getting their voices heard and forcing change thanks to the web, says a new report by the .
The study, advocacy 2.0, explores how new media tools and the internet are empowering consumers to act together and challenge unfair treatment and disadvantage they face. We've made the same point a few times, more recently with the posting, Power to the people thanks to technology.
Vivienne Sugar, chair of the Welsh Consumer Council, highlights web services such as the Welsh Assembly Government's project and ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Wales' Your Voice as helping people to make a stand.
And she singles out what she calls the , coalition on Deeside which is "another home grown example of how the new internet tools can empower consumers to work together and get their voices heard" - in this instance to protest about plans to expand the A55 dualcarriageway.
