reports today that Poles are to be encouraged to learn Welsh and English when moving to our country.

Well, Pole Szczecin has been in touch and, whilst not making the type of comment to win new friends, it does raise an interesting point: "At least all of us do speak Polish. How is your Welsh?"

Well, should Szczecin have to learn Welsh if a large proportion of the Welsh public have no intention of learning the language?

The advice comes from the Social Justice Minister Edwina Hart in her introduction to a new information pack called "A Welcome to Wales" being launched today at the Polish Welsh Mutual Association in Llanelli.
