Catherine Zeta Jones makes Broadway debut

Oscar winning Welsh star Catherine Zeta Jones made her Broadway debut on the weekend.

Starring in a revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little night Music, Jones plays the part of Desiree Armfeldt and stars alongside Alexander Hanson and Angela Lansbury in Sir Trevor Nunn's production.

Panto season is just about upon us - oh yes it is!

Ruthin Craft Centre wins the 2009 Dewi-Prys Thomas design prize

Congratulations to Ruthin Craft Centre for winning the 2009 Dewi-Prys Thomas design prize. It's an award given to recognise the importance of good design to the quality of life, identity and regeneration of Wales and is named after the inspirational teacher and architect who was head of the Welsh School of Architecture for over 20 years.

Les Misérables comes to Wales

It's a big event - the 25th anniversary tour of the mega hit musical Les Miserables starting in Wales and there's a strong Welsh presence in the cast.

I interviewed the star of the show, John Owen Jones, for the Radio Wales arts programme on 10 December and he was in fine form, despite a nightmare five-hour journey to the Wales Millennium Centre from his home outside London. One double espresso later he was his usual ebullient self, telling me how thrilled he was about the brand new production and the great cast.

Craft in the Bay: 25 years on and flourishing

Last week I was in Craft in the Bay, the Cardiff home of the Makers Guild in Wales. Based in a refurbished and listed maritime warehouse with a purpose built extension on the poetically named The Flourish in Cardiff Bay, the building is full of high quality crafts and the Christmas exhibition, Seren Arian is no exception.
