Coming up on TMS
So we may have come to the end of this summers Test matches, but there is plenty more cricket to look forward to on 成人快手 Radio over the next few weeks.
Test Match Special will be back on the air from 1030 on Saturday to bring you commentary on the Friends Provident Final between Durham and Hampshire at Lord's.
Our commentary team includes Durham's first Test player, , whilst the Hampshire perspective will be given by their former batsman , who will be joining us in between his duties as the MCC's head of cricket at Lords.
Warwickshire and Scotland all-rounder Dougie Brown, also the Professional Cricketers' Association chairman, will be on hand to offer the neutral view.
After that, the NatWest one-day international series between England and India kicks into gear on Tuesday 21st at the Rose Bowl. Joining Jonathan Agnew in our commentary team for the seven-match series will be Christopher Martin Jenkins, Henry Blofeld, Simon Mann, Arlo White and Kevin Howells.
Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar will again be joining us to offer expert analysis alongside TMS favourites such as Vic Marks and a sprinkling of a few new names including Yorkshire and England's Darren Gough , Australian Test legend and Somerset captain , former England wicket-keeper Jack Russell and Phil Tufnell.
And it hasn't taken 2005 Ashes winner long to find new employment after announcing his retirement from cricket. Giles will be part of the TMS and Five Live team during the NatWest series and I am delighted to say Ashley will also be part of the TMS team later this year in Sri Lanka.
We have had lots of enquiries about the 成人快手's cricket coverage over the winter. Well, I am very pleased to tell you that Test Match Special will have commentary on the whole of England's busy winter ahead.
Jonathan Agnew will lead our team in South Africa for extensive coverage of the ICC World Twenty20 championship in September and as well as commentary on all of England and Scotland's matches we'll bring you the best of the other action including the opening match between South Africa and the West Indies, plus India against Pakistan.
Former England legends Geoff Boycott and Graham Gooch will join us in South Africa, whilst Dougie Brown will be part of our commentary team in between his playing commitments for Scotland.
Then, Test Match Special will move to Sri Lanka for commentary on the one-day internationals in October and the Test Series in November / December.
As I mentioned earlier, Ashley Giles will be with us whilst the Sri Lankan perpective will be offered by recent World Cup finalist Russel Arnold who played over two hundred times for his country in Tests and ODI's.
After the Christmas and New Year break, Test Match Special heads to New Zealand in February for commentary on both the one-day international and Test Series.
One final thing to mention is the little matter of a potrentially thrilling finish to this season's LV County Championship.
Kevin Howells and the Five Live team will bring you regular updates on the key matches and if you log on to bbc.co.uk/cricket, you will find ball by ball commentaries on many games provided by 成人快手 local radio stations.
Good to hear all the commentary coming up.
But please can we have some official explanation as to the absence of Blowers from the majority of Tests this summer.
I've seen plenty of comments bemoaning this but no-one ever responds.
Henry's character turns a technical act of commentary into something entertaining. The newer members of the team are all roundheads and we need the cavaliers to balance them out. Now we have Giles as well - technically very knowledgeable but no sense of fun or enjoyment. TMS has become very dry of late and that is very disappointing.
Why so few Tests for Henry?
Complain about this postLoving TMS this summer. Will TMS in the autumn and winter be available to us British expats? I was very disappointed not to be able to listen in last winter and, as far as I could tell, there were no alternatives for radio commentary over the net, at least not here in the USA, so it did not seem to be a competition issue. If you could swing it for us to be able to listen in the US, it would be fantastic. Good to hear Henry Blofeld is back next week too.
Complain about this postExcellent blog Adma, its good to know what is coming up.
I thought that 成人快手 Radio would be covering the Twenty20 World Cup but now I know for sure.
Looking forward to the New Zealand tour as well its been a while since we've toured there. I hope that Bill Frindall and Henry Blofled will be involved of the coverage of that tour.
I'm pleased both Kevin Howells and Phil Tufnell will be invovled in the one-day series coming up. i'm also pleased that Graham Gooch will be used at the Twenty20 World Cup, I think he should be used a bit more than this test summer.
Just a point on the last teat covergae, I though Graham Thorpe was an excellent summeriser, hope he can appear again at some point.
Great coverage as ever from TMS, well done Adam.
Complain about this postAshley Giles has been a refreshing new addition to the TMS team already. He's a knowledgable, neutral observer and a thorough gentleman.
Where, oh where, is Blowers? A part of what Americans, especially in Baseball, call the 'color' (their spelling) commentator.
Enquiring minds want to know of the doings of the various avians around the ground, not to mention the state of Public Transportation. "Goodness me, was he bowled? Just as that train pulled out of the station"
Complain about this postA good collection of ex players, but no mention of Alec Stewart. He has been excellent on 5Live and I have enjoyed him on TMS too. Please can we hear more from him. He gives a good insight into the game as well as adding humour.
Complain about this postThe uncharismatic Giles certainly needs to work on his commentary skills. An entertaining listen he is not.
Complain about this postGood to hear your plans. Where has Foxy Fowler been this summer? (Apologies if I missed him). He and Vic Marks are my favourite TMS summarisers, along with Sir Viv.
Would love to hear more of Simon Mann commentating. Unlike others who have posted here Henry Blofeld doesn't do it for me.
How about some Welsh voices - recognising the silent W in ECB.
Complain about this postTMS has been excellent this summer. Sunday was a horrible day here in Glasgow and the mix of cricket and humour really brightened it up, especially Aggers gaelic football bet. I agree that Graeme Fowler should be used more as a summariser...so bring back the fox!!!
Complain about this postThat line up sounds great!
Complain about this postAny chance we will be able to see highlights on the tellybox too?
Obviously the commentary is good enough not to watch highlights... but all the same, they are useful... especially if they're of the twenty20 world cup!
Keep up the good work!
Please tell which of these games i will be able to listen here in Canada. Thanks

Very pleased about the inclusion of Ashley Giles -he has been insightful and origional in his analysis.
Please be sure not to "over professionalise" with too many ex players. The motive force of the commentary should always be the lucid and quirky commentators whose enthusiasm and passion for the game entertain the listeners. Being a good player does not necessitate good communication skills and TMS should always paint a picture. There has been a tendency towards dryness of late.
Keep up the good work!
Complain about this postAll of the above coverage is fantastic - will it also be available online for non-UK listeners?
Complain about this postThanks
What's happened to the Test match Special quiz.
A great bit of fun and always the chance of good cricket related prizes.
Complain about this postTo Jim Morris: The TMS quiz has been stopped along with other competitions as a temporay messure for the time being!
Yes the TMS quiz is a great quiz & I look forward to it return one day maybe!
Complain about this postAdam, could the Who's who of TMS be updated please!
Curent link is here
Thanks!
Complain about this postWhat has happened to Graham "Foxy" Fowler as a TMS commenter?
He brought a lot to the TMS coverage, and I maintain he is much missed from the team now. As so many "commenters" are joining the team these days, surely Foxy should be included. Why not?
Complain about this postWhat news on Henry Blofeld? please please keep henry on!
Complain about this postI agree with what many others have said - whilst I still dearly love listening to TMS, I am finding it increasingly dry with the inclusion on the commentary team of many ex players, particularly the more modern and very technical ones.
So yes - more Blowers and Foxy.
Complain about this postGlad to hear there are other Foxy Fowler fans out there! Saw him on TV the other evening but for me radio is his natural medium.
What do people think of Arlo White - he seems to be used more than Simon 'His grumpiness' Mann these days. At least Simon knows about cricket and also has a bit of banter with the summarisers. I've read rumours that Arlo White may be given more TMS duties - please NOOOOO.
Complain about this postI have stopped listening to cricket on the 成人快手. The new commentators make it boring and
WHY NO HENRY BLOFELD?
Has he been dismissed by the 成人快手 who are too afraid to announce anything because they know how popular he is?
Complain about this postI have listen to TMS for over 40 years & love it!
Complain about this postHowever I do miss some of the repartee between the commentators - part of the joy is the banter between them ie Brian Johnson & Jonathan Agnews hurt ball (shall we say) & laughter!
Don`t lose the fun element totally by using the new, young former cricketeers constantly - although they have lots to offer in technique & style - Blowers & CMJ etc journalist style needs to be there as well.
Here`s to another 50!
Best wishes
Catherine
What's happened to the Test Matrch Special Quiz
Great cricket related prizes and helped test the old grey matter during the matches.
Complain about this postWhat's happened to Test Match Special Quizzes
Good fun with cricket related prizes
Complain about this postAlways a delight to hear Henry Blofeld -- He has been missed.
TMS fans in the USA would like to hear this winter's tests.
Complain about this postTo be frank, Giles bores the pants of me, droning on about not much in monotone. He makes Graham Gooch sound interesting!
Alec Stewart with his weird way of raising the tone of his voice on the last word of every sentance is also stunningly banal, but nonetheless strangly engaging.
My favourite commentators are Blowers, followed by CMJ and Aggers. The best summariser by a country mile is Boycott, but Gus is also very engaging.
Tuffers is out of his depth and should be presenting a saturday-morning TV cricket show aimed at children - he has the right kind of humour for that and could be a big hit.
Most of all - KEEP GOING NO MATTER WHO YOU HAVE!
