Absolute disgrace. Minister McGimpsey has thrown the dummy out, while making a point on the budget. He has reverted to the sectarian legacy of his failed party to inflict this on the people of the North-west region of Ireland. The money from the Irish government will now be lost. Words do not describe this. This cannot be allowed to happen. What a waste of space McGimpsey is!!!

I cannot believe he has done this. I hope the UUP voters in this region see this and remember it when they vote.

First we get 3 Belfast sports stadia funding last week, now we get life-saving equipment and capital switched from the North-West.

re. Altnagelvin hospital losing out on the radiotherapy unit, it is an absolute disgrace. If we, the people of Northern Ireland, need more radiotherapy units (which we obviously do if they can afford two new ones for Belfast) wouldn't it make better economic sense to have one in L'derry and have it part funded by the Republic? Yet another example of the dysfunctional nature of the Assembly. How would it be any worse for someone from Belfast to have to come to Derry for treatment than the other way around?

Call me cynical but is it a coincidence that Foyle has no UUP MLAs and there is only a single UUP coucillor on Derry City Council? Looks like McGimpsey doesn't have much to lose in the North West.... A real shame that some of the most vulnerable people in society are the ones who have to suffer for this politicking...

Stadia v health... If we need new sports venues, how about the sporting bodies build them themselves and charge fans higher prices for tickets? Instead Stormont is subsidising sports fans at the expense of our health...

Huge amounts are being spent on three large capital projects, all in Belfast, where people can WATCH sport and eat burgers (quote from NI Tennis). So true.

Meanwhile............................after many months of absence, Paisley senior appears in the Chamber for a final time to collect his final pay cheque. Never mind, there's still plenty of gravy to be had in the House of Lords.

I agree 100% with you both. £3m is being spent on a foot bridge in Strabane by the DSD. The DSD have given £10m to the 'City of Culture'. This money could have been given to run the unit after it was built. It's an absolute disgrace. McGimpsey is spitting his dummy out. He didn't like what he was given in the budget; he has put the entire tantrum upon the shoulders of sick people in the Northwest. Orange politics at their finest!!!

After what I heard today on the Nolan show, I have some analysis of the UUP: Yesterday their only minister (let's face it their representation is dwindling election after election after election) made a decision that belongs in 1964. Today David McNarry's words belong in 1911. They have gone back 100 years in a couple of months. Basil McCrea and John McCallister are what the UUP need; the voters will tell them that when it's too late!!!

P.S. I see the SDLP enjoyed my #1 and #2. The truth, as I continue to prove, is a hard pill to swallow!!!
