The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ is easy pray for Government belt tightening because of the compulsory nature of the Fee. HMG are the protector of the public purse and the champions of public broadcasting at one and the same time.

I find it amazing that even today the Hutton Enquiry seems to be a taboo subject. The way the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ were treated by the Government was an absolute disgrace especially after the claims made by the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ at the time that resulted in the Hutton Enquiry were proven to be true! History has vindicated Andrew Gilligan and Greg Dyke and the dossier that was used to promote the war in Iraq has been proven to have been massaged towards that event. The Government demanded an apology from the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ and the sacking of scapegoats, but where's the apology for the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ for the disgraceful treatment received at the hands of this Government?
