Well if there will be little interest in someone wearing a headscarf then there should be little comment regarding someone wearing a crucifix so I don't see what the problem is. Just stop this silly nonsence and get on with the job in hand. Report the news and if it makes everyone feel better perhaps we should have a fashion show prior to the news being read so that we are all aware of what everyone is wearing!!!!! What a sheer waste of everyone's time and TV licence payers money.
Why hasn't the crash been shown on the news already? You show plane crashes, other car crashes, war scenes and so on. Why the sudden delicacy? Because he works for the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ?
With reporters defecting and newsreaders being hounded, one wonders if now would be a good time to pop my C.v. round ?
It seems that al-Jazeera has found the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ to be a fairly fertile recruiting ground, should we read anything into that?
Richard, I expect they are holding it back for the show!
Richard: Its talking about the actual crash happening. That's very rarely shown on TV as generally there isn't a full TV crew watching planes crash. I can't think of any car crashes I've seen on TV that aren't in those programmes that try to destroy cars or in racing programmes.
Well, well, what a surprise... NOT one word of my comment (06/10/06) complaining about ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ censorship, lack of proportional representation of genuine MAJORITY GB public concerns (via web-site etc.)& the way ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ always "balances" serious issues in favour of certain MINORITY segments of society, has been published.
I sent my "comment" to various friends & interested groups with the additional observation that the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ would inevitably just BLANK IT ALL OUT... as if nothing that critical of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Editorial policy ever existed in the first place. Everyone (bar the National Secular Society) agreed that was the most likely outcome...HMMM.. congratulations ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ...!?
Ed - how about the Donald Campbell crash? Wasn't film of this shown in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ programme 'Across the Lake'?
It is a very sad state of affairs that Prof Lundestad should say that it is debatable whether the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ is an international model for news organisations.
The listeners/viewers should be informed of the grounds for this statement and the remedies and action considered appropriate.
