If you fancy yourself as a bit of a popstar (and who doesn't?), or if you've got mates who make music, then The Cut want to hear them!

Upload your tracks on the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing uploader, mark it for the attention of 'The Cut' and who knows? If your music's chosen, Stephen could be sulking to your soundtrack.*

Good luck, innit x

*Please don't judge me on that terrible alliteration. It's early, it's Sunday... I TRIED.

Jimmy 0010 on The Cut special and online auditions

Helloooo everyone and welcome to what should officially become known as 'Watch-again Wednesday' (after all, with a catchy name like that how could you disagree?)

Below is yesterday's The Cut special which was broadcast to you from the open auditions in Manchester with a certain Jimmy 0010! Big stuff, right?

But before you watch that, it's time for some **BIG IMPORTANT AUDITION-TYPE ANNOUNCEMENTS.**

If you've uploaded your audition video and haven't heard anything yet, do not panic. Due to an overwhelming response, the casting panel are STILL watching the videos and have decided to hold callbacks next week - if they want to see you, you'll receive a phone call by the end of this this week.

We've also re-opened the online auditions for one day only! So get your entries in quick.

If you auditioned in London and you haven't heard back from us, it probably means you weren't quite right for the part - however, don't forget, we've got loads of other opportunities at Switch and just because you weren't right for Catherine or Elliot doesn't mean you're not right for our other projects. We've met you all now and have your details, so will be bearing a lot of you in mind for future stuff :)

Anyways, hopefully that answers a lot of your Qs. Here's this week's Cut Special, where Jimmy shows you how NOT to audition for The Cut.

Manchester and London: Day One!

PHEW. We've just finished filming Day One of the London auditions and I am officially... POOPED! Err, or something less disgusting sounding. It's been an amazing day: there's been tears, laughter and a light sprinkling of snow. What more could you ask for??

Highlights today include hearing someone's made up "sob story" about how they deserve to get the part because their teddy fell down the side of the bed; meeting two best friends from Brighton... both of whom were called George; and the moment I scared a boy because I talked so loudly.

Last Friday saw us venture up to Manchester and Jimmy 0010 (offa YouTube) popped by to say hello. He did his very own 'audition' which'll be on The Cut Special tomorrow at 5:19pm on

www.bbc.co.uk/switch it's an interesting one, so make sure you tune in... ;)

Well, that's pretty much all the news for now - but just to let you know, all the judges are sooo impressed with the amount of talented people that have auditioned already, so really well done to everyone that has attended.

Vicki x

PS. The judges are all busy watching the uploaded auditions now - you'll know by tomorrow evening if you've got a recall.

Registration for the live auditions are now closed...

...but luckily you can still totally upload yours HERE! Wanna know what to include? Check out this 'how to audition' video.

The online auditions close on the 16th Feb at 6pm, so hurry - and remember, callbacks are on the 17th Feb, so try and upload earlier if you can.

Lastly, London auditionees will find out their audition details today! Niiiice. x

Good Wednesday everyone,

So... Switch are in Glasgow today, auditioning for The Cut (exciting stuff!) and rumours are it's going really well. If you've signed up for the Manc or the London auditions and haven't received your audition time/location yet, DO NOT PANIC.

The Manchester auditions are still being processed, but you'll receive your email tonight (7pm at the latest) if you signed up for those, and London people will get their deets tomorrow. Phew!

Also, when you get your times, if you can't make it just let us know via email and we'll try to accommodate you at another time. Because we are nice like that.

And now... ON WITH THE CUT SPECIAL! Thought we were only looking for two new characters on the road? Well, then you're seriously mistaken! There's loads of other opportunities at ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Switch and The Cut crew are keeping a firm eye out for people to fill those roles too! Find out more here...

Doing your A Levels or GCSEs and worried about The Cut auditions?

Hi y'all!

With The Cut auditions well underway, a lot of you have been asking A-Level-and-GCSE-related-questions, so in response I have decided to pull out all the stops and (WAIT FOR IT)... post a Monday, mid-afternoon blog! I know. Cause for celebration, right??

I'm now being side-tracked by the thought of balloons, cake and dancing but before I get stuck into that 'Happy Monday Blog' Gateaux (what do you mean you don't have one in your fridge?), I'll clear a few things up that we've been asked about on the blog:

Please note: most of the following need only be taken into consideration if you make it through to the later stages of the audition process (i.e. the recalls), so I wouldn't worry TOO much about the following for now, but do bear it all in mind.

1. If you are taking your A levels, you may still apply for the filming job in London. However, as stated, the job is full time. We wouldn't recommend you to be taking any exams at the same time, and if you did want to, it's huge decision which should not be taken lightly and we advise you to talk it through with your family. If you do make it through to the later stages, then we'll require permission from both your family and the school that they are happy for you to film and sit your A Levels at the same time.

*Interesting Fact of The Day* Matt Kane, who plays Stephen Mackinnon, was just completing his A Levels when filming for The Cut, Season One started! He said it was really difficult, but do-able if you're dedicated. Apparently he had to study on set in between takes.

2. If you are doing your GCSEs, things get a bit trickier - we wouldn't advise you auditioningÌýbecause, unlike A Levels, these exams are mandatory. It's highly unlikely you'd be able to act in The Cut and sit the exams.

3. In terms of specific filming dates, they'll be confirmed to the successful applicant. But for now, do bear in mind that although it will only be a few weeks filming at a time throughout March-April, there'll be lots of meetings and rehearsals in between. So once again, it would be extremely difficult for you to be taking any form of exam.

4. Lastly, and not exam related, it's important for us to make clear that if you choose to upload your video, you'll have just as much of a chanceÌýof being cast as those attending the live auditions in Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and London. If you've uploaded your video and are pleased it shows off your acting talent, there's no need for you to attend the live auditions.

Phew! I think that's everything. And now for the gateaux... anyone for a slice?Ìý

Open auditions excitment and details

Hellllllllooo!

So obviously the big, big news in Cut Land this week (oh, if only such a place actually existed... imagine the (emotional) rollercoasters) is the CUT OPEN AUDITIONS! Eek! Are you coming along?? Let me know if you are, cos I will do a good luck dance for you. No, really: I will.

Writer Grant, who sits next to me - get prepared.

A few people have had some questions about the auditions, so to formally* clear any GCSE/A Levels confusion up:Ìý

If you are 16 years old and you are taking your A levels, you may still apply for the full time filming job in London.

However, if you are doing your GCSEs, you MUST obtain a performance license from the LEA in order to get the part. This is because A levels aren't mandatory but GCSEs are! If you don't have one of these, we won't be able to see you - sorry.

Joining the cast of The Cut is a full time job. You will be expected to film full time for two weeks every 5 weeks or so - this means you wouldn't
be able to sit A levels at the same time.

EEP! Good luck y'all. We're popping along to do some filming at the Manchester and the London auditions for The Cut Special, so if you see us, make sure you give us a wave.

Vicki x

PS. Oops... forgot to post the link to this week's iPlayer episode! Here it is. Imagine... your face could one day be on iPlayer! :oÌý

*Don't worry, you don't need a shirt and tie.

This week's Cut Special had us all jumping up and down with excitement - not only because of the fast-approaching open auditions (y'know, that little thing where YOU could join the cast?!), but also cos JEDWARD had been in the studio earlier and two trampolines were left behind! Sweeeet.

WARNING: Two Take That songs were also used in the making of this Cut Special.
