Week 7 Omnibus and General Gossip

Well helloooo there party people and happy Halloween!! I'm considering dressing up as a Wicked sWitch (geddit? Switch? As in ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Switch?? ahem), but then someone pointed out that that's not funny.

Point(ed hat) well made.

ANYWAY! Speaking of all things scary, who is that Joey Horton fella who made an appearence this week?? The spooky music that was played when Jay first met him didn't help my nerves, but IÌýguess it's nothing Fin can't handle. You can watch that bit and all the other bits that made up The Cut this week right here in The Cut Omnibus Week 7.

I'm really sorry, but because I've been at home with a really sore throat (must be all that cackling), I've not had a chance to do a photo gallery for this week (YET).

But FEAR NOT. I did make one of Dan Black's lovely face which you can look at right here! He's the guy who wrote the theme tune to The Cut. We interviewed him earlier the week and he was brilliant.

Lastly, after a bit of begging, I managed to convince people to tell me about what happens next week on The Cut. All they told me was that both Stephen and Jay can't put off what they've been avoiding so long... hmmm. Cryptic.

Speaking of crypts, I'm off for a little snooze in mine so that I'm well enough for some serious apple bobbing tonight. BRING IT ON.

Vicki x

NB: I do not actually sleep in a crypt.

It's a cave.

On today's 5:19 Show it was a Cut special... and it was a pretty big deal because the one, the only, Mr Dan Black of The Cut theme tune fame popped in! He had a little chat with us and then performed an acoustic version of THAT song (errr... that'd be 'U +Me'), so check it out:

Going back in time for a moment (cue wooshy time travelling sound), on last week's show, we asked you for your suggestions for Fin's surname. If you've got an idea, email it to the519show@bbc.co.uk or post it as a comment here.

LASTLY, on next week's 5:19 Cut special we have KIDS LOVE LIES in!

Blimey word. It is all happening. Officially.

Week 6 Omnibus and General Gossip

Ello, ello, ello!

So, here we are. Six weeks into The Cut and a there's a new-ish character in town... it's the much talked about FIN! (Well okay, I say much talked about, but in all honesty, it has been mostly me talking about her. But still. I do talk a LOT. And actually, she's not even that new, because we saw her in episode one. But, erm, she's new to the Cut, so...)

ANYWAY! You can watch the whole omnibus again here and before we move on, can we please take a moment to reflect on what has happened. Mack is such a meanie and I feel seriously sorry for poor Olive. Will her and Stephen ever get back together?!

There's been some classic one liners this week, such as Fin's "Chill out, pixie face" to Olive (I'm soooo gonna use that soon. It's like a half insult, half compliment, after all doesn't everyone in their hearts slightly want to look like a pixie? No? Just me then...), but I feel this week has been all about looks.

What has been your favourite look this week? Mine was when Fin pulled out the lollies from her pocket. I am recreating that face right now, actually. And getting a lot of funny looks for it. Hmm.

Did you see the Cut special this week? If not, have a look because a) Fin needs your help b) Lara and Matt (Marla and Stephen) want to hear from you and c) we found out some HUGE news about this Tuesday's guest... eee!

We also have an amazing new photo gallery from behind the scenes of this week online now. Here is one of the photos. No, I'm not 100% sure what that thing next to Marla is either.

marla.jpg

VERY lastly, here is a little snippet of gossip for you. They've nearly finished filming the end of the first series and all I know is the grand finale involves some kind of big party. Clearly I'm gonna have to go investigate... will let you know what I find out!

Week 5 omnibus and gossip update

Post categories:

Vicki Vicki | 12:25 UK time, Saturday, 17 October 2009

Comments

Yep, it's midday, it's Saturday, and that means it's an omnibus update and a gossip extravaganza!

First off, you can watch the Week Five Omnibus again right here, and can I be the first to say (re: the ending), ummm... WHAT?! I love Olive, but she might have taken things a little too far this time...

Secondly, I promised that I would try and scout out all the latest gossip on the New Cast Situation. AND BOY HAVE I DONE SO. Well, sort of.

Next week sees the arrival of Jay's bessie, Fin, into the world of The Cut and apparently she has a little bit of a problem that requires your help. All will be revealed on Tuesday's 5:19 Show Cut Special, so tune in then.

Next (and this is HOT stuff), you know that fit guy in the opening of every episode? His name in real life is Edward and he plays Tommy, a guy who doesn't come into The Cut for a few weeks yet. I think with looks like that, he's gonna cause some trouble...

A lot of you have been asking about the auditions for the characters. And trust me, as soon as I get more info about this, you'll be the first to know!

This week it's all go for The Cut. They're filming like mad things and working all hours of the day and night. It was Grant (assistant director's) birthday yesterday and he thanked the cast for the greatest gift of all - a 5am start to the day. Alice (who's the on set stylist) made him a MASSIVE chocolate cake to celebrate. This, coupled with what happened on Tuesday's 5:19 show, confirms that actors REALLY like chocolate cake.

Lastly, can we start a 'Favourite One Liners' from The Cut section pretty please? My fave from this week was in episode 24 when Stephen says "She just... hit me with all this Paris stuff".

I now have an image of Olive hitting Stephen's arm with a tiny model of the Eiffel Tower.

I also have an image of her sitting in The Cut director's chair. No, really. An actual image, not one from my brain. Here it is:

The Cut Music - Week 4

Comments

Happy Sunday, Cutbots!Ìý

Can't believe we're on Week 4 already - time flies when you're plotting to escape to Paris with your secret girlfriend (as the old saying goes).

Looking forward to tomorrow's online ep, but in the meantime here's the full list of this week's music:

---

Gold Teeth - Everybody (courtesy of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing)

- Angel

- Baby Baby Baby

- Sylvia Plath

- I Fought The Law

- Paper Planes

- Books Beside Her Bed

- Needle in the Hay

- Je t'aime means I love you

- I Will Follow You Into the Dark

feat. Pete DohertyÌý- For Lovers

- Sometime Around Midnight

---

And if you're in a band you should go and read the last bit of The Cut Music - Week 3 now. It tells you how you could get your own music featured on The Cut (thanks to ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing).

Pow.

Week Four Omnibus, photos and a party!

Post categories:

Vicki Vicki | 12:33 UK time, Saturday, 10 October 2009

Comments

Watch week four of The Cut Omnibus here - but be warned, it is slightly heartbreaking at the end! What is Stephen playing at??

*sobs*

He's only gone and done a Taio Cruz (see his song: 'Break your Heart').

ANYWAY! This will cheer you up - we've got lots of lovely new photos from behind the scenes of Week Four right here.

I took most of them as part of my job as Official Cut Stalker, and whilst of course I think they're the bees knees, you might not agree (namely because there are no bees involved, and even if there were, it's unlikely they would have knees). Is there anything you'd like to see more or less of? More actors in action shots? More members of the crew? Lemme know and I'll do my best.

So, in other news, something has come to my attention: it's almost an entire month since The Cut launched! A month! Isn't that mad?

To celebrate, instead of the normal 5:19 Show 'Cut Special' that is on every Tuesday, we're going to have a mini party! They'll be games, balloons and lots of cake - plus, I can exclusively reveal that it'll be Jess (plays Toni) and Scarlett (plays Rosa) joining in on the fun. So tune in at 5:19pm this Tuesday and if you have any questions or general musings for the cast, leave em here or email the519show@bbc.co.uk

Well, I think that is basically everything I need to tell you.

Oh no, wait! One more thing. Filming starts up again next week and so the actors have been in again this week for script readthroughs and rehearsals, and they told me that the story is BIG and apparently, two of the characters have an accidental kiss. Um. What is an accidental kiss? And where can I get one?

OAO (over and out - it'll catch on one day)

The Cut Music - Week 3

Post categories:

Trev | 11:12 UK time, Sunday, 4 October 2009

Comments

Hey Team Cut,

Yet another amazing week has flown by (if you missed it, watch it on iPlayer now - we'll wait).

And, as usual, there's been even more amazing music.Ìý So if you've been scratching your head wondering who sang what this week, wonder no more...

---

Marina and the Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot (brought to you by ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing)

- Stable Song

- Shake Your Pom Pom

- Vibrant Things

- Samson

- Electric Feel

- Wild Flowers

- Eskimo (Jay gives a brief rendition of this in episode 13)

- Plough and Orion

---

And that's your lot. Let us know what you think of the soundtrack so far (Week 1 + Week 2). Anything you'd like to see more/less of?

And don't forget, we've teamed up with ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing, who are all about supporting unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar musicians.

So if you're making music or your mates are in a band and you think you should be heard on The Cut (or other Switch shows like 5:19 or Revealed), then just head on over to bbc.co.uk/introducing, upload your tracks and tag them as Switch.Ìý That way, we'll get to hear them and pick some of them to be in our shows.

You could also get the attention of your local ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing show, or even Radio 1 / 1Xtra (quite a few people listen to them, you know).

Other artists found this way through Introducing have even ended up playing stages at Glasto, Reading, Leeds, Radio 1's Big Weekend, etc...

Basically - if you're in a band, you should go upload your tracks now. That is all.

See you next Sunday!
