After 97 minutes of being entertained by , you're left wondering how a warm-hearted film like this could have attracted such ire and controversy.

The story of Brian Clough's ill-fated 44 days as Leeds United manager is full of nostalgia and humour.

It's dominated, of course, by himself, played affectionately by the excellent , who has got Clough's distinctive speech inflections and facial expressions down to a tee.

This isn't the dark, brooding and introspective Clough depicted by in the book on which the film is based.

James Haskell has the self-confident air of someone who expects things to always turn out his way in the end.

And who can blame him? The Wasps flanker is young and good looking, his girlfriend was a finalist in FHM's "High Street Honeys" competition and, oh yes, he is one of England's finest young rugby players.

Last February, at a time when Haskell had won only five caps, . "Right now he is England's youngest, most dynamic, game-changing player," the World Cup-winner reasoned.

You know it's been a good day for England when Martin Johnson is smiling, convivial and even slightly playful at his post-match news conference.

Following the at Twickenham, one journalist expressed his surprise that the England manager had become so animated following one of his side's five tries.

Fixing his inquisitor with a stare before laughing, Johnson responded: "You're asking why I was so excited after two losses and getting panned?"
