Following on from our recent Authors Live events, senior producer Gerald Strother brings you news of another live event run in collaboration with our colleagues from ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Wales...

We are pretty excited around these parts because on the afternoon of Tuesday 22 June ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Learning Scotland will be hosting a very special Doctor Who event that promises to bring a bit of time travelling adventure to Pacific Quay.

To celebrate the upcoming launch of Blood of the Cybermen, the second Doctor Who Adventure Game, a panel of very special guests will discuss the first game, City of the Daleks as well as the imminent series finale.

There's more about the event over at the Doctor Who website, which is where you'll be able to submit questions to the panel and see the event live online.

And teachers, should you happen to get caught by the Head Teacher watching the event with your class and need a curriculum friendly excuse to justify said decision, here are some videos, taken from our Learning Zone clips library, which are perfect for linking games with the classroom.

First off, there's a film about hand held gaming which looks at the unique design process of the Nintendo DS and some of its games.

If these videos are the kind of things which get your thumbs twitching for the gamepad and you want to know more about combining games and learning, then I would heartily recommend finding out more over at the .

And if you just fancy playing some games then try our new Standard Grade Bitesize, Higher Bitesize and Brainsmart games.

Till Tuesday, Timelords!
