Doesn't seem much of a sanction, from what I can see ....
I only hope that Big Sister can refrain from a comment on this particular thread. This despite the dash to reach 50,000. Otherwise we'll have Big Sister on Big Brother in that thing on the right of the blog and we don't want all that trouble again do we?

I've never seen one minute of Big Brother, but from what I've heard and read it is certainly worth missing.

Oh Tom, I was always very bad at refraining.... besides which, I'm used to this. It's known as Eddie's Revenge.
My own Big Brother is somebody I try to avoid, along with the TV programme named after him.

Yes I'm with the seeming majority here who are not interested in, and do not want to hear anything about, Big Brother. I have seen the odd five minutes now and again and cannot uderstand why on earth anyone would watch it for hours. I think I honestly would rather watch paint dry
However I am sure we will have to sit through stuff about it tonight because it is a media story and everyone in the media thinks stories about other people in the media are a) fascinating and b) important. In the case of a) they are almost always wrong and in the case of b) they are - well almost always wrong as well.
Have to concur with the general concensus here. BB is mindless dross. Like another Frogger, I've caught the odd minute or two (in the early years) while channel surfing, and simply cannot understand what people see in it. I was hoping this row might be the end of this tosh, apparently I am to be disappointed. If you must mention it, as little as possible, please?

As for watching paint dry - when you do that, you at least know that something productive is happening.

I actually think BB is fascinating - now hang on before you jump down my throat - from the point of view of how far people will go for the chance of winning money, and getting their faces (and various unmentionable bits of their bodies) known. I would imagine it's a psychologist's/psychoanalyst's dream (not that I am one you understand), reading gawd-knows-what into the behaviours portrayed on screen.
I always swear I won't watch it, but it's like a horror movie; you don't want to see it but find yourself peeping through your fingers. Not often though.
On the plus side, it seems as though some good came out of the last BB for Tourette's Syndrome sufferers; it helped to clear up some of the existing ignorance surroundingd the condition.
So, shall we put your name forward Fred? Go on, you know you want to spend a couple of months with a group of well-adjusted, rounded, grounded people? Like Us Froggers!!

(Just in case anyone was wondering...)
Ho hum, so it's Big Bother time again (a much more appropriate title). And if the screaming headlines from The Star over the past week or so are anything to go by [1], this year's "ordinary" series is likely to be just as stupid as ever, and the characters will probably be egocentric stereotypes, as ever.
One saving grace: Endemol's lease on the BB house site expires on the day after the final, so there are rumours that once the final contestant has left, they'll rig up the house, thus making sure there will be an explosive finale to the series.
Then all we need is a mole in the company that handles the televoting to embroil Channel 4 in another vote rigging scandal, so they don't make enough money to consider building a new BB house.
[1] The headlines were purely glimpsed on the news-stand - honest! I'm more of an Indy man myself. Actually, that's a lie. I'm more of a news.bbc.co.uk man myself :) Except between 7-8am and 5-6pm on weekdays, when I get my news fix elsewhere...
