Now that's just not fair, Eddie! A little hint, at least....
By posting this we will be half way to 50k by tomorrow. I think its time to see whats happening on the beach.
Now, Eddie, you know we like a challenge - let's see if we can make it by midnight!
Look Eddie, will you please stop doing this! You're just a great big tease. If you're going to send us all individual cup cakes printed with a photo of you in edible inks, to celebrate 50,00 on the blog, then for Heaven's sake just DO it, ok?
Or whatever it was you had planned...
Which is obviously close to where you broadcast ..
I think a nice venue - maybe around the vicinity of TV Centre .....
would be an ideal location ..
However I realise that
don't get me wrong though .. Norwich is ...
thing on telly tonight ....
so in the end stayed out .. but as Gillian said earlier .. hopefully midnight was the ..
like Gillian who lives in the midlands and Fifi on the outskirts - and BigSis who is on the downs and Humph and DIWyman who live near Tricia it would not be so convenient
time of night when
barriers can get broken and
another day ..
history will

The reason for this invasion?
Pissed as newts -- starved ourselves all day - and went for a meal with some friends (Hoteliers) that wasn't a meal! (as we discovered later) -- just strong G'T's
Anyway -- got back and checked on the blog - hence the outrageous misuse of my Licence fee!
but hey ! We may be all dead one day --
- Will be all dead one day - So just have fun now and again eh!
PS: I haven't suggested it yet - but we should try and get Eddie to do some video on his next Any Questions trip. Now that would be a first on the blog? Real Player has an encoder for the laptop so no excuses really!
All together now:
"Are we nearly there yet?!"
The first eight posts of this thread, combined with the four on Recent comments, plus this one, should make this at least 39,981. Add on comments almost certainly made elsewhere, and I'd hazard a guess at aroundabout 39,990. Knowing the rate at which we contribute, I'd be disappointed if we weren't at 40,100 minimum by this time tomorrow.
Now if we take the 40,000 number, and divide it by the number of days this blog has been running (279), we get an average of 143 posts per day (OK, 143.36918, but it's a bit tricky to make 0.36918 of a post). Surprisingly, that only works out at about 6 posts per hour - but then again, I doubt there'll be many more posts between now [1:30am] and 7am...
OK
Nothing has appeared and it's now 27 minutes past one 01:27
These delay are ridiculous?
This was my last post - copied! - night all! even if if they think I'm Spamming - which I may be :-(

So did I win the Lorraine Kelly holiday in the sun - for trying ?
Jonnie - I think you may have been the One....

Inspired by your attempt at number-crunching, I thought you'd be interested to see some of the official figures.
In an average month, the blog receives more than 140,000 page impressions (PIs). That's not the same as the number of visitors; it's the number of "clicks" made to the PMBlog, with several being made by the same person in one visit as they move around the different entries. (Sadly the technology can't yet tell us how many unique visitors we get)
That 140,000 figure makes us the 5th largest ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ blog in this trial period. Sometime during May we will have had our 1,000,000th PI, at which point balloons will cascade from the ceiling, I've been told.
The PMBlog enjoys the highest "level of engagement" of any ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Blog. A similar-sized blog - belonging to an unnamed red-headed presenter on Radio 2 - only approved 800ish comments last month; the PMblog saw nearly 4500 comments approved. That indicates how much more likely people are to post a comment and interact with this blog, rather than simply read it.
In fact, the PMBlog accounts for 33% of **ALL** comments approved for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Blogs since the trial began last summer.
Thank you all for your help in making the PMBlog the success that it is!
Marc
Why, we're glad to help, Marc! I hope that the blog manages to move beyonf the "trial" phase soon. I have this vision of you, Eddie, and Sequin all standing with laywers looking over your shoulder every tome you post...
XXXXXXXX back atcha, jonnie.
Marc (21):
Clearly when we reach the 1 millionth PI there should be some champagne opened.
(That would make it the Magnum PI)
[SSC now leans back and listens to the sound of all the frog-girls imagining Eddie with a big moustache driving round the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ car park in a red Ferarri...]
Jonnie dear, I daresay you won't be too interactive this morning. Who's doing the breakfasts? Well done anyway, if you were The One!
Lo-ovely strapline Humph :o)
Marc THE Blog Price Extrodinaire. Does that mean more comments to the Ginger Presenter get black balled or just that fewer radio 2 listeners interact?
Will not make any comment on what that means about Radio 2 listeners ;-)
Blog Prince Marc (21) Thanks for that. And thank you for working tirelessly (?) on our behalf. How long is the trial supposed to last?
Jonnie- stirling effort and am super impressed with the lack of typos. I can't manage that when I'm sober!
Ednum PI. Now. there's a thought .....
Just for you, SSC:
Gillian @ 28
"Trial" is sometimes the operative word! There's no indication of how long it will last, but equally there's absolutely no indication that the powers-that-be might pull the plug on the Blogs at any point in the future.
Big Sister (30):
Bwahahah! :o)
Excellent, Big Sis!
I wonder what team that rugby shirt represents?
31 - 'at any time'??? Good grief, thats a worrying thought....I'm wondering if a smidge of co-dependency is developing :)
Marc (31) Pull the plug.......perish the thought!
The more froggers the merrier, so keep on plugging (but once per prog. is probably enough!)
And if this is the trial.....who sits on the jury??
:-(
breakfast was tuff actually - a very sober evening tonight
Earlier in the week there was an item on an outbreak of TB in a junior school in Luton. The spokeswoman came up with a typical mealy-mouthed excuse on why this was happening in a country where just a few years ago TB was virtually readicated. She used New Labour PC codewords like "vibrant" when she meant multi-racial and multi-ethnic. The dilapidated areas where new immigrants live are anything but vibrant. She also talked about local residents now travelling to areas where TB is prevalent. All this to avoid saying that TB has been re-introduced by new arrivals and they travel regularly back to their countries of origin from which they fled. Why did she not say whether the children affected were newcomers to this country? Why is this Government so dishonest with us all about so much going on?
Hahahaha Jonnie! Thanks for the biggest chuckle of the weekend so far. You are lovely when you are drunk!! :-)
A, xxxx.
ref CBT (therapy)
with ref. to above and your item this week, i would like to confirm what one of your contributors said. ie that CBT most certainly does not truly help people suffering from mental illness. it took over 20 years for me to get the help i needed (spring last year 06') for my recovery from depression. the vast majority of people suffer as a result of unhelpful parenting and all that stuff needs revisiting in order to overcome/cure the mental health issues.
none of the NHS people were of any real help to me. and that includes the CBT. and we all know how stretched the NHS is.
it is wholely necessary to get all the information out there in order to process it. it most certainly shouldnt be just side stepped in order to use the CBT process, because when your head is that full and when you have sought help for so long its imperitive to get back to the begining, which CBT is not built for.
i had to seek out, year on year private counsellors and it was made all the more difficult when you have been trained not to trust your instincts and hence when trusting other people with your most intimate details and then to finally... pegg that this person is not going to be able to help me is quite an additional soul destroyer. its a huge job in itself to find the right help, and people shoulnt have to put up with these huge waiting lists. and inadequate counsellors. its apparent with the figures how huge the problem of mental health is. and if you look back at most of these people they will be able to say how far back the probs were, and part of it is you end up forgetting some of it because people dont listen, and dont listen and then its only when your longer in the tooth-if your lucky-that you realise that you hadnt really tackled the issues, and youve ended up adding more and more to them because the adequate help is not out there. i found it heartbreaking to hear teenagers talk about being put on antidepressants-our society is failing our young and creating bigger problems in the future. wake up everyone.
this is why alot of these adults are absolutely stuffed, because no one was sensative enough to detect the problems of the children, and when they spoke they werent listened to.....and then, they got too old and couldnt trust anymore
....and when your dealing with such a system that is so insensitive then it really is too late for some of these people. just too late
