December the 15th

Eddie Mair | 10:15 UK time, Friday, 15 December 2006

Paul Turner sends this photo which SCREAMS, among other things, Christmas. He writes:

"I found this Miss Christmas on the A66 near Keswick, when out walking. The only thing is, it was the 13th of May 2006!!!!"

If Father Christmas was trying to look inconspicuous on his summer holiday, then he wasn't doing a very good job.

It's surprising Miss Christmas' snowgirl didn't melt in May. Still, wonderful things can happen in the Cub Scouts.

Eddie I took my picture especially for the advent calender and I'm getting really anxious as there aren't that many days to go before Christmas. Shall I send it again or do you have it? I'm losing sleep over this. ;)

Mary (4) I am going through them in the order they arrived. Honest! That way I don't miss any. (Unless there are more than 24...or is it 25?)

    Eddie (6) exactly - "24 or is it 25?"

This household doesn't know either. We have an advent calendar (tasteful National Trust) which daughter has used for several years now .(We blu -tack the doors closed again each year - not that we're tight or anything). She asked me the other day, "How come there are 24 doors on the calendar, the last one is numbered 24, but when you open it there is baby Jesus, who was born on Christmas Day the 25th?

Explanation please from anyone qualified to give one. I'm at a loss!

Annasee (7) a new calendar is in order unless you, or your child, are particularly attached to the one you already have. I have found some wooden & cloth advent calendars which I was too late for this year, but shall get for next I think.

Eddie & Annasee; they do all go up to 24; the eve of the birth of Christ being the celebration perhaps & what happens in a lot of Europe. At least you don't have to post on Christmas day Eddie!
