Dear Viewer,

Jeremy Paxman presents tonight's programme and we'll be focussing on the events in Zimbabwe.

MDC supportersAll the early reports said that the opposition MDC had won a clear victory. But two days after the polls closed - and they are split 50/50. Is President Mugabe trying to find a way to steal the election or are his colleagues just trying to pluck up the courage to tell him he's lost? We'll have the latest from Zimbabwe and will also be asking what the international community should do now.

Diana
So now we know - if we didn't before - that there was no conspiracy to murder of Princess Diana. That's from Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker in his . So what of Mohammed Al Fayed's claims? They are without foundation say the judge. So why did he make them?

We'll also have one more story - lawyers permitting - so you'll just have to tune in to see what it is.

Do join us at 10.30. Much may change by then.

Running your email through a grammar checker might be an idea before sending it, or running it by a copy editor at least, if you still have those, which I doubt.

Bin the lawyers (I was one myself once) and show/discuss the beating up of Tibetan protestors by New York's police, no doubt after some "Freedom Fries".

Call me a cynic, but I suppose China's ownership of billions of bonds denominated in the North American peso might be obscuring the issues here - after all, the 成人快手 was quick enough to criticise the Greek police for infringing the "internationally recognised right of protest" yesterday.

It did'nt help that some turned a blind eye to Mugabe's excesses years ago. I was very interested in hearing what Peter Hain had to say........

I really wish Newsnight producers had the forsight to compare Patrick Mercer's comments about Hasan Butt yesterday with the ones he made in the very same studio with the very same interviewer when he was alongside Ed Husain last year. Then, he was happy to extol the importance of former Islamists, now he has changed his tune somewhat.

You are always so pleased with everything and I noticed when the Newsnight Schhols feature was done by Jeremy you're e- mail was visible on the web-site well done.

I found the piece with Jeremy and Michael a bit "tacky" Jeremy sat with his arms folded and Michael Crick sat exposing the sole of his shoe during the entire conversation, which is not a good way to hold any discussion I know it's late night but standards should may observed

Newsnight's report on China plus interviews was a return to Newsnight at its best. This story raised issues for us all. Those two Chinese lady stock market investors really showed how the "market" and by inference, the City of London make money out of the rest of us.

Well done Newsnight. More please.
