Newsnight's GorDaq-free website
- 30 Aug 06, 10:20 AM
What do you think of the redesigned and pruned website? Thanks for all the comments and suggestions you've sent in. Many raised similar themes and we've tried to incorporate or reflect most of them. The result is, we hope, less cluttered, clearer and much easier to navigate. And, as many of you requested, we've killed the GorDaq.

I'm a complete newbie to the web site. I'm an American who feels inclined to follow the 成人快手 news as it is much better than our standard American fare.
Anyway, I only got to see the GORDAQ for one day, but let me tell you, you absolutely did the right thing! I could tell from reading about it that it was completely stagnant and well, stagnant.
Oh another thing, don't know if this has anything to do with being in the states or not, but your streaming video comes up all blurred and grainy. Not sure if anything can be done about that.
Good luck and keep up the good work! By the way, your web site gave me a good laugh. It's nice to see journalism with a twist of humor. :-)

The new website looks great. In fact I normally only interact through my RSS agregator and daily emails to keep up with whats on the show. So it was interesting to take a visit.
Given this I haven't seen the Newnight outakes section before. Personally I would really like to see Jeremy presenting the weather again! Possibly the one of the few times the weather forecast has left me with a tears of laughter even though it was going to rain the next day.

Is it this page that you are seeking comment about? I'm happy to have somewhere to let off steam and to get in touch with (but not necessarilly in tune with) other people's views on the subjects that Newsnight covers. I was supicious originally that the 成人快手 'Have Your Say' comments column could be deliberately skewed as submissions were 'monitored' before publishing. This could lead to manipulation unless (i)the 'monitors' are known to us and (ii) the criteria for rejecting a submission is made very clear (claims of 'racist' no longer carry the 'gagging by pc' as in the past decade).Without a very clear example of what is and isn't considered 'racist' and without knowing what degree of 'selection' is applied, the number of 'Recommended' votes recorded for each comment is meaningless. But if there is no manipulation then that idea is very helpfull to truly gage public opinion; better than any opinion poll as it provides for explanations rather than just a vote 'yes' or 'no' as some so-called 'interactive' sites allow. Is Newsnight's comments column 'monitored'? If so give us the above clarifications, but I hope it is not as us indigenous Brits from time before still like to practice freedom of speech.
