Hundreds of them once plied the River Severn carrying tonnes of cargo...this a picture of the remains of a classic vessel.

My eldest is on "work experience" this week in the Forest Of Dean so 'dad n daughter' are camping out in a friend's log cabin.

Not any old log cabin mind you ... this one comes complete with its own garden railway.

This was taken by Dave from Tetbury at the weekend. So spring is here...Thank heavens!

I'm off for a couple of days but will be back next week. I'm spending the week in the forest of Dean in a friend's summer house. It's a long story which involves my daughter doing work experience in Cinderford...so dad has decided to join her for the week.

I'll be spending the afternoons on my bike trying to get lost in the Forest...if you have any suggestions of areas to cycle please get in touch and anymore spring photos would be great...cummings@bbc.co.uk

Tributes to Mrs.Malaprop

Mark Cummings | 11:59 UK time, Wednesday, 7 March 2012

A malapropism is a word or phrase meaning something different from the word the speaker or writer indented to use.

This week we have been celebrating the joy of the English language and here are just a few of our favourites from the show today. Lawrence in Tuffley gets my award for the best one!

Linda in Stroud's mum asked Linda if she would like "Tikka Masala " in her coffee rather than Tia Maria.

Kim in Cheltenham says she thought Neapolitan ice cream was called "Napoleon"

Frank in Gloucester was once told by his friend that sadly his friend's company had gone into the "liquidiser" rather than liquidation.

Pat in Gloucester's mother once ask pat to pick up some "orgasmic bred" from the supermarket.

Jackie in Cheltenham heard all about her mother in law's trip to Spain where she watched "flamingo dancing"

Adam in Quedgeley was setting off for a long journey from his nan's house when she checked that his "cat nap" was ready & charged to direct him on his journey.

Basil in Nailsworth says his friend used to call his ford escort a "hunchback" - he meant hatchback....

Karen can remember when her dad once said when hungry "I'm ravishing" he meant "famished"

Tessa once knew a stone waller who said "can you see that optical delusion the wall doesn't look straight"

Kevin in Gloucester was discussing what to buy a friend for his birthday with his mother & she suggested an "ear pod"

l mac on twitter says a friends child once came in from the garden & said that he'd just seen "a spider in its website"

Lawrence in Tuffley once asked his 80 year old mother to get him some shopping whilst she was in Cirencester. She couldn't find it & returned home saying she'd been on a "wild goose step".

Eric in Taynton was once invited to sit in the "hostility suite" at a very posh local hotel.

If you have any more to add please go for it...cummings@bbc.co.uk
