It's a Monday :(
Not my favourite day of the week I鈥檒l be honest with you.
The tube was that bit more packed today (a rush hour evil that those of us 鈥渃hoosing鈥 to live in London have to put up with) which meant I had the pleasure of being pressed up against some sweaty businessman鈥檚 smelly pit.
A pushy woman who I see every morning was just a little bit more pushy this morning (tube-rage is alive and well I assure you) and just about every computerised thing at Radio 1 is shutting down for Christmas or on strike which means everything鈥檚 taking twice as long to do today.
Saying that though, I still have a smile on my face.
1) It鈥檚 Christmas soon. A time of year where the whole world becomes as camp as me where otherwise dreary parts of the world become beautified with pretty Christmas lights, except Radio 1 offices which are still lacking in anything remotely Christmasy.
2) Rachel is in charge of what happens on Radio 1 during the run up to Christmas and is planning some very cool stuff. All throughout the day I can hear Rach booking guests and talking to various people about her plans and it鈥檚 very fun.
3) This morning Chris was finally able to record his Peter and Katie parody entitled 鈥淎 Brand new Bra鈥 and it鈥檚 utterly brilliant. He used the talents of Claire Palmer (who normally works behind the scenes on our Live events team) and who has a great voice. Although I must be honest, I鈥檓 a little disturbed at the grossness of the new vocal partners (see photo below) in music at least it鈥檚 a beautiful moment.
The new song will have it鈥檚 World premier tomorrow morning on the show. I promise you WON鈥橳 want to miss it.

Aled.its zara from sunny poole! i was really bored so i thought i would write to you. i am in school at the moment choosing my work expericance placement it is so unbelievably boring, but your blog has cheered me up:D i love waking up in the morning listening to chris and da gang. anyway better go teacher coming :O dont want to get on the wrong side og him hehe.

Hi Aled, love reading your blogs.
I am here in Connecticut dreading Christmas. I used to love xmas too, in Ramsgate with my Nan, but holy cow. You have got to come here and see the Aussie rules shopping! We have Thanksgiving this week and then the whistle is blown, Let the mayhem begin! I'll put up a few fairy lights for you Aled, just to show you my heart isn't totally black just yet.

Ah bless you Aled I love how much effort you put into your blog entries! I love the photos - they enhance the whole thing! I bet your offices are more Xmassy than mine they are already moaning and groaning about it fast approaching!! And I can totally relate to your tube irritation - we have a similar sort of transport up here in Sunderland called the 'Metro' and I seem to get pressed against the most stenchiest of people on a daily basis during rush hour! Oh Joy!

Well Aled feel for ya bud would'nt like the tube, I enjoy riding my bike to work as cars cost to much to run. Hey 7 miles there 7 miles back does me for exercise with me running. looking forward to the new parody allways like listening to the show chris and the gang is the best on radio 1. Lets hope that dave don't get grumpy about x factor judges lol. Also does anyone else really hate the sheriff of nottingham after saturday episode of robin hood. Any way tata say hi to all and keep up the good work to you all.
