We've come out of our two recent away matches with four points and I'm pretty sure we would have been happy with that beforehand.
On reflection, I think the only surprise in both games was that the results didn't happen the opposite way. I felt we were a wee bit lucky to come away with a and, with the chances we had at , were disappointed not to pick up maximum points.
Everything coming out of Montrose at the weekend showed their frustration and disappointment - and rightly so. Although the chances created in the game were limited for both sides, they certainly enjoyed the better of the possession during large chunks of the match.
We have improved the defensive side of our game recently and if you can keep a clean sheet then you're always in with a chance and we were delighted when popped up with a late winner. For me, there's no better way to win a game and, although I headed up to with my partner, Laura, after the game, I'm told that it was a very enjoyable journey back down the road.

If ever there was a game that was going to change my mind and add my name to the support for summer football then it was .
The players were all sitting in the dressing room before the game as the referee inspected the conditions and the majority were expecting an unfortunate late call-off.
It didn't materialise and credit to the referee for letting it go ahead after Elgin had travelled such a long distance. After talking to him in the early stages of the matches I know he certainly had his doubts.
The pitch itself wasn't the main problem, but the strong wind and driving rain that blew up the Galabank slope made things difficult.
Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the game until I was taken off and I'm sure it was a decent game for the 311 supporters who braved the conditions; and it's for the supporters that I think it's time we looked at a change to the schedule of our season.

I made the short trip on Tuesday to take in the match of our Scottish Cup conquerors .
I have a couple of friends at Queens in Ryan McGuffie and Colin McMenamin and I must admit to telling them I didn't anticipate them having too many problems in seeing off the Second Division side.
This wasn't meant with any disrespect towards the team that defeated us only last week but I honestly didn't see enough from them in those two cup matches to think that they would worry Queens too much. How wrong was I?
It's no exaggeration that Brechin could and should have had the game wrapped up in the first half hour as they simply brushed Queens aside.
Although it's a regular friendly fixture between Annan and Queens I don't often get the chance to see them in competitive action. For that reason it's difficult for me to say how much their own performance affected the result.
Queens looked to me to be very poor but credit to Brechin because they were excellent.

I don't know about you but I had one of the quietest festive seasons ever.
I wouldn't exactly say that I looked after myself especially but with the scheduled fixtures that we had you need to be careful. As it turned out the games against Berwick Rangers and Stranraer were called off, as was our Scottish Cup replay once again in between Christmas and New Year.
For any Annan fans out there who were disappointed and confused about the Stranraer game surprisingly falling victim to the elements on the morning of the match all I can say is that it was the correct decision.
We trained at the club the following morning and the pitch remained unplayable. At the time I was surprised myself to receive the manager's text but after walking across the surface it would have been dangerous for the players; and that was after a further 24-hour thaw.
Since then we have, at last, got ourselves back in action albeit in our disappointing 5-2 defeat to Brechin City.
