Swing Low, Swing High - Just Swing For Goodness Sake

Chris Evans | 06:56 UK time, Thursday, 19 August 2010

Jonny, me and a circus school.

What an interesting combination. Stilts - me, tight wire - Jonny (that killed me, I actually thought I might be good at that for some obscure reason).

The decider was the trapeze. Now there have been some moments on the sporting challenges, but the trapeze is right up there with them.

Nobody won, it's just that one of us lost a little less than the other.

Video up later tonight.

About to head off One Show shopping for shirts.

    Good morning blogettes!

All are well? Do hope so.

    Chrissie-S

How did meet up with friend go last night. Her son sounds inspirational and probably a joy to be around with such a positive approach to life. Struck a chord with me as my baby bro has been diagnosed with same condition recently. Drugs seems to be working OK for him. Keeping fingers crossed.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about the Mathew Street Festival in Liverpool this coming Bank Holiday. They've just published the list on the website of which bands are on. It takes place on the Sunday & Monday.

We're going on the BH Monday. It all kicks off @ ll am each day and there are 7 stages all over the city. It finishes about 6pm in the evening - very civilised. Time for a bite to eat afterwards and still get home to leafy Cheshire at a reasonable hour!

Hope some bloggers can make it up Norf for a cracking sweekend of music.

    Regards PJ

    Morning Peeps

It's weird about the hosepipe ban, I mean, it's not like we've missed using it, as it's rained every day since it was imposed...perhaps it'll have the opposite effect now it's been lifted?

I'm not going to get my hopes up!

Ooo ... Stilts, Tight wire and Trapeze, not for me! I like to keep my feet on solid ground!

CSN, I intend to ask my boss about working from home occasionally when he's back from holiday next week, but I don't hold out much hope, as it will set a precedent for the others.

    Mooooooooornin aaaaalllll.

CLP - did you get to shoot Jonny out of a cannon? Now that would be have been worth having on the video !!! Or maybe Moira in one of those Lion taming outfits with a big whip !!!

Can't think of anything else today and my huge pile of work is calling me.

    Toodlepeeps...

P.S. CLP - the brighter the shirt, the less people will look at the hair or black always make you look thinner. Bright black it is then.

Looking forward to video Friday. Hope you didn't hurt yourselves too much. I like watching circus but wouldn't want to perform in one.

Bingo, hope all is well with your exam results.

Best wishes to all parents and their offspring, that have been walking the 'tightrope' over the last few months.

    Morning All,

Cheers Debs - there's not a lot of duct fitting that can be done remotely and I've commandeered the cushy (yeah right!) office job. Hope you're out causing mayhem soon...

Chris - At the risk of coming over all Fronk (I think that was the name of the, shall we say - camp - wedding planner in Father of the bride) I always liked the flowery pattern shirts you wore - suited you a treat!
I even own one myself nowadays. My mates refer to it as my 'gay shirt', please don't let that put you off.
I really don't know what you are worried about regards your weight and attire. Every time I've seen you, you have looked well dressed (even in casual gear) and as thin as a whippet.
Stop fretting man - you're absolutely fine!

Good luck for the show tomorrow night, not that you need it - you'll walk it.....

Hi Chris: look forward to choosing your shirt for The One Show tomorrow night! And can't wait to see the latest video, bless you both!

007: no doubt you are having a snooze just now - hope you enjoy your day off!

PJ: thanks for asking about my friend. He is 46 and was diagnosed with MS when he was just a young man. He lived a really normal life for years and years and it is only in recent years that his medication has been "upped". He sees a terrific consultant in London who has discovered the medication that my friend really needs. We had such a lovely evening and of course when I arrived I gave him such a big cuddle, I almost knocked him off his feet - but he just laughed about it! It sounds like your brother is getting good advice and medication, and I am sure he will be well looked after - as far as I can see, the medical profession is working endlessly to help people with MS. xx

Rips: saw your wee post from last night. Just hang in there - sometimes life gets a little crazy, and then it all calms down again. I agree, though, about what you are saying about Chris's show. Some days I only get to hear a little of it, but even that half-hour or so just makes my day start off so well.

MC: I managed to have a look under the sink this morning, and found the other box of oven cleaner I have invested in. It is called Oven Pride and it is just brill! As I said earlier - it works!

mtd: glad to hear things are going well at your new job.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

    C xx

CaptainStella - BIG THANKS for your thoughtfulness & kind words!!!!!

A didn't wanter boast but a got me NVQ & City & Guilds exam results last week... A got 100% right in me level 1 & they didn't tell me the % a got right in the 2... but a passed!!!!!! :)

So am 'appy as ave got me NVQ & C&G in mathematical 'appenings!!!!!

But that's not good enough for employers... just a little extra a suppose ter fill up me already VERY empty CV in the qualifications bit!!!!!!

The important one is me GCSE result a get on Tue!!!!!!!

Me prediction is a gotta C or D with more a feeling a gotta C!!!!! If a getta B i'll be VERY suprised!!!!!

Shame as in the two March exams a gotta A & B but the more difficult June exams it all went wrong with one exam a total disaster!!!!!!
What they do is add up all four exams ter get yer overall mark!!!!!

If a getta C a might re-take it in November as a was knocking on the door of a B!!!!!!!!!!!!

It all went wrong as they threw in some VERY nasty Q's about triginometreterry & pie on shapes AND an evil algebra table that we 'adn't even practiced & even me tutor 'adn't even 'eard of this type of Q in an exam before... so it was a nasty exam from the exam board which we were warned they occasionly some years do!!!!!!

Trust me ter be in the wrong place at the wrong time!!!!!!

PS Sorry if me answer is a bit long!!!!!!

In short ter answer yer question Stella.... NO!!!!!

    'ope this 'elps!!!!!!!!

    'Lo gang

Bingo and all the blog babies and parents waiting for results, I hope you all get what you want and need.

Can't offer any advice but that which our own CLP said on t'radio ad about results - just remember, an ounce of worry is worth a pound of nothing! (and if that isn't a Minnie Quote, I'd eat my hat)

Rips. LOL at your "gay" shirt cos I was trying to persuade Mr Seza to buy such a shirt this weekend. The resounding NO I got from him (and boy1 who I thought might be on my side) makes me think I have a bit more persuading to do. I did mention that at least 2 denonair gents of my acquaintence wear such garments but no luck so far!

There was something else but I can't remember it now!

  • Comment number 19.

I really think you need to go shopping Chris!! The spotty one will play havoc with the viewers eyes!! The Steve Wright T-shirt is not good for your first show.

Hope all goes well tomorrow. xx
