GLEN CAMPBELL I THINK, DON'T YOU ?

Chris Evans | 16:38 UK time, Friday, 27 July 2007

Well it’s FRIETAG everyone and look what we’ve got here….

…a whole weekend with not a single plan.

Which is itself, our plan. For to have no plans these days we must plan.

Tis the only way one can achieve any kind of spontaneity.

Having to stop myself thinking about what to do in all that blank canvas. My paint brushes are quivering in anticipation.

ALSO !

Can’t have to much of the bevies tonight, as don’t want to ruin, decision making side of my brain fresh for Saturday morning.

So many things rolling around the old grey matter as I speak.

May take the new red lady out for a blast….

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, there I go again…. No plans, no plans, no plans….. remember to switch off….

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLANNNNNNS, that’s the plan, once and for all.

I try not to "plan" too much either (weekend
wise) 'cause I just get frustrated if/when it
inevitably falls on its jacksey, courtesy
    of others......

I find that if my Personal Trainer bumps me
(at the last minute) from Saturday to
Sunday - which means I can't drink too much
because I'm (supposed to be) driving Sunday,
I seem to manage to throw back my whole
evening's normal chug-down in an hour and
a half. So I've told him that I don't "do"
Sundays any more. If he can't make it Sat,
    we skip it.

I do have pre-bought tickets for the IMax
this Sunday so I'll *try* to go there (ha ha)

Have a good one, whatever you do, "planned"
    or otherwise.

    Hi Chris et al

No plans, eh - what a luxury! I'll be spending the weekend continuing to try and make our temporary accomodation into something liveable. At least the weather forecast is slightly better. I'll cheer myself up a bit by listening to the show, providing the rather flaky electricity supply holds up for the duration. Last night the rats ate through the cables, again, and I had to spend two hours hunting for the break. I found it eventually, with a fried rat beside it.

    cheers

    CAT DIARY

    Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are
fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for
the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in
order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is
    my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their
feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it
clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that
my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what
this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try
this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and
snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly
released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is
    obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with
the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My
captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell,
so he is safe. For now...

    Hi there,

A big thank you for the messages of support and kind words from you it really means alot to me that you have taken the time to read. I have only just had a chance to catch up, the boss was in the office all afternoon keeping me busy which can only be a good thing at the moment.

CtD, I'm sure that he knows how much this means to me, I don't know how else to make him really understand. But I feel so selfish, as though my needs are more important than his.

ChrissieS, thank you for that story. I worry that I will never forgive him if I accept what he wants. Things aren't great between us so I'm probably wrong to think about another baby.

I have had horrible thoughts this week such as, if I stay with him I probably wont be a mum again. If I leave him then one day there is a chance that I may meet someone that wants the same as me. Then I feel awful and guilty for these thoughts because of my two boys.

What a mess. Sorry to be such a misery, guess I should get back in touch with my pnd counsellor.

I promise next week not to be so miserable when I post, sorry guys.

Anyway, fingers crossed for the weather this weekend and I really hope you all have a great one!

    Debbie.

I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious sweetheart, post-natal depression is horrible thing and I reckon that yes, you're not rid of it yet.

But listen up. Take it from one who's been there and has come out the other end. Happily.

I think you're obsessing about this when perhaps the real problem lies elsewhere. That's what happens. So yes, go talk to your counsellor if he or she has helped you before. I think you may have more work to do. Try not to take it out on your man, he's just as entitled for his needs to be met as you are. And by that I don't mean you're selfish; you're not. Just anxious.

If I'm honest I never planned to have an only child and when my marriage broke down (due in no small part to the pnd which turned me into a neurotic nightmare, I really can't blame the hubby, he was and still is a sweetheart but didn't know how to deal with the situation; the thought of not having more babies was quite devastating. But now, in my 50s, the time having well passed, I'm so totally relieved and thankful I never had more. Why? Because I've had the freedom to do all sorts of mad things and to go places I'd never have done if I'd had more responsibilities. And now I have the most fantastic relationship with my daughter, we're best buddies. She's her own woman and thoroughly enjoys telling me off, waggling the finger and administering the It's Not Big And It's Not Clever evil eye with a twinkle in it. Because she can.

I asked her recently if she felt she'd missed out by not having siblings, and without hesitation she replied, "WHAT? You must be joking. Why would I want to share you and me dad with anybody else? Not on your nelly."

And so there you have it. Life is full of compromises, and often in the fullness of time what we see as a sacrifice can turn out to be such a blessing. So stop worrying. Relax and look after yourself. Hell, come with me and jump outa plane into a cabbage field. Indulge yourself but don't brood.

All is well. This, too, will pass.
