Bieber fever, Ludacris and one lucky Superfan

Today was a chart and a half! Not literally of course...I'd need a time machine for that. Not only did I get a chance to talk to the living legend that is Ludacris but I turned into a teenage superfan in the middle of the interview. [Listen to the Ludacris interview]

Speaking of teenage fans, Bieber fever took over the Radio 1 building this week as Justin stopped by for a natter and ended up chatting up his radio plugger for our amusement as part of the interview. Oh to be a popstar... [Listen to the Justin Bieber interview]

Skepta explained what it meant to be a Bad Boy and how important the recent emergence of UK music talent is. I couldn't agree more. [Listen to the Skepta interview]

We spoke to Inna. Well, I say spoke to. What I mean is she spoke and we tried our hardest to understand her accent. [Listen to the Inna interview]

As well as all that we had our huge Chart Superfan Competition. Cullum from Warwick won the prize which means that he gets to play host to the Official Chart next week live from his house, sorry farm. Yup I'm gonna be pulling on a pair of wellies and dodging cow pats together with the full Official Chart team...together with Chipmunk (pictured below) and a few other surprise guests!

Check out the blog next week for photos of yours truly mud-dodging on next week's Official Chart.

Bye now

    Hi,

I have to make a complaint about the listings.

No's 39 & 40 are re-entries into the charts and not non movers.

This is not the first time they have been listed like this, can someone please make sure the listings are correct in future.

Some people might not be bothered by it but as a chart collector it does make a diifenece as i rely on the info given here to be correct.

    Thanks and regards

    Dave

Dave , another thing is , the chart is suggesting that Cheryl's Fight For This Love and Sidney Samson's Riverside , have both been in the top 40 for 1 week each !

This is also incorrect , and very misleading for anyone reading it , anywhere in the world , who takes the radio 1 chart as gospel .
Each week , I notice at least 2 mistakes with the chart , and as Radio 1 are the first to reveal the official chart , surely it should be correct EVERY single time .

Come on Radio 1 , be brilliant .

Ok , I have just looked at the album chart , and there are the following mistakes .

Paloma Faith's album is called Do You Want The Truth or Something Beautiful ? The current title of her album is incorrect .
It has not been on the chart for just 1 week . It already has gold status !

Ke$ha's album Animal has not been on the chart for just 1 week either , and nor has Kasabian's album , which entered at number 1 , many months ago , and has platinum status !

Hello, it turns out that, rather than this being an issue of simple human error, there's been a glitch in data processing somewhere down the line, and some of the entries have been put up strangely. I'm assured people are working on it.

Keep checking, we will get there eventually!

    Cheers

    Cheers Fraser .

I have noticed these glitches for a number of months now , and felt compelled to mention them .

As Radio 1 is so ahead of many other radio fields in terms of new music and relevance in todays music scene , I feel it is important that current charts etc , that are viewed all around the world , need to be accurate at all times . This IS Radio 1 , after all .

This station is a brilliant flagship , and I hope the solution is found soon .

Frazzle, while your listening, can you get rid of Reggie for reasons seen on every one of his recent posts please...

  • Comment number 8.

I second Jonesy's motion. Hate to be cruel but what is his point in writing these posts. Most people who listen to the Chart Show knows what was happening and those who don't, i.e. myself, don't honestly care if Justin Bieber chatted up his radio plugger of if you agree with Skepta over the importance of UK talent emerging or how difficult you found Inna's accent to decipher.

Cullum from Warwick won the prize which means that he gets to play host to the Official Chart next week live from his house, sorry farm.

Does that happen every week? Cos if it does, I think we should really try to get one of us to win it....

  • Comment number 10.

If any of us win it (especially spirit) then it's not gonna be the warmest of welcolmes for Mr Yates...

  • Comment number 11.

Reggie's a lovely man , it is the WAY the chart show is presented that is the problem.
Focus on the music , the chart and the acts and give entertaining information on each song and act , and keep the excitement and the suspense flowing , right to the number 1 , it is easy to keep your audience interested .
