The Enemy - 'It's Not OK'

Clever boys, this bunch. Y’know that man that stands at the corner by the station ranting and raving about the state of the town, and how we can all save ourselves? Do you ever listen? No. Well all you wannabe-preachers need to take a leaf out of the book of The Enemy.

The EnemyIt’s widely known that these boys hail from Coventry and the lyrics are the band's view of the current situations facing their friends living in the city. For example, history of Coventry fans, the city used to have a booming motor industry which declined seriously in the 1970s leaving it in hardship… the boys respond with the lyrics "leave your Peugot on the forecourt, it’s all too much for you to take’"blaming the car company for "the mundane routine that we accept".

This is all well and good but not all of us music devotees have the time to be overly keen on such topics – luckily they’ve thought of us...oh have they thought of us... In a complete contrast to the tone of the lyrics we’re thrust into a frenzied and audacious mixture of brazen melodies that weave, bob, bounce and jigger so much so that all you can do is dance around like a complete loon.

Lets hope that this will result in preacher men on corners forming one-man bands and splendidly serenading everyone with their thoughts. I’d certainly pay more attention...
