Akon ft. Snoop Dogg - 'I Wanna Love You'

Post categories:

AkonHaving already admitted to ChartBlog that he got the idea for this little ditty in a strip club (read the interview, if you don't believe me), it should come as no surprise to anyone that this song isn't really called 'I Wanna Love You'. One of the words in the title is different, and it's not I, You, or Wanna.

(- Windows Media only)

And you know, especially as we're only two days from Valentine's Day, it's important to point out to everyone involved (and you lot, obv) that even though the change from a word beginning with F to a word beginning with L isn't that big, and was clearly only made to appease sensitive radio and TV bosses, your parents, and members of the clergy...there is a WORLD of difference between saying you want to, y'know, enconjugate a lady's *cough-cough* with your special prangulator, and telling them that you want to love them.

Specially when every other thought in this song revolves around watching a lady do a striptease and thinking sexy thoughts about her. Apart from the bits Snoop does, which are about him and where he is sitting AND about thinking sexy thoughts about the girl Akon is looking at. It's not exactly Romeo and Juliet, is it? More Randy-Ho and Drooly-Gits...

And if they're BOTH excited, and it's the same girl they're looking at, it does make you wonder why this song didn't end with some kind of punch-up over who gets to ask her out. Maybe they did paper, scissors, rock about it.

Anyway, lovely melody, icky lyrics. That's your classic Akon, right there...

PSST! Wanna see a special backstage report from the set of the video? You do? then!

Ya know, until I learned the real title I actually thought there may be some sort of moral hope for Akon and Snoopy. But ah well... back onto my list of cd's I won't touch with a barge poll.
