Next week's themes...
I'm off on holiday next week. I've left Vic Galloway in charge of the show and more worryingly I've left Barbara in charge of the blog! Tales of cake, handbags and scandal at the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ are on the cards.
I hope you like the themes and hope that you'll support . It 's 'funny songs' on Thursday and even though I won't be there, or have done it, I did get the t shirt...
Monday 9th
Blue Monday and The Happening are two songs which don't mention the title in the chorus. Can you think of any others? Get in touch with your suggestions....
Tues 10th
Tomorrow on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Scotland,'Temple of The Apollo' celebrates the legendary Glasgow venue. What were your favourite rock venues and what were the best things you saw there. Let Vic know by emailing...
Wed 11th
Patrick suggests songs with a driving connection for tonight. His suggestions are Turn, Turn, Turn and Red Light Spells Danger. Let's have yours...
Thurs 12th
Tomorrow is Red Nose Day so tonight let's have your suggestions of the songs that make you laugh...intentionally or not!

I think Jake Thackray, Tom Lehrer or maybe Christy Moore.
I would have thought Monday's theme would be songs where the title is not mentioned in the lyrics at all.
Perhaps the team considered that too restricting.

I'd suggested a theme like this, because for ages I didn't realise the Joni Mithcell song was called Big Yellow Taxi.
She only sings the line once at the end of the song and not in the chorus. (Yes, I am that thick.).
I'd suggest for Monday
U16 Girls, Travis
The Joyful Kilmarnock Blues, The Proclaimers
Ballad of John and Yoko, The Beatles
Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana
The Scientist, Coldplay
Anyway, I'm sure V & B will be gentle with us after last weeks tricky themes!

On 10th Nov 1981 I was one quarter of a first time double date who was dragged along to see OMD at the Apollo. At the time they didn't have the largest repertoire in the world and sang about 9 songs before singing some of them again. They then came out for an encore and sang two of them a third time. So I would like to request Electricity or Messages as I was almost word perfect by the time the concert was finished. Apparently the following year they played a normal set.
I would have requested Queen, the best gig I seen at the Apollo but I Wouldn't want Hoppo to self harm.
