Title: Storm

by Charlotte from Lancashire | in writing, poetry

The coldness is too much
Even the rabbits are cold in their hutch.
The faint sound of music drumming in my head
I would sing along but it's far too cold,
I just want to go to bed.

I'm stranded outside,
I should hide
Shelter from the storm
Try and get warm.

But I don't
I can't
I just stand there shivering
A motorbike zooms past, pizza delivering.

I stare at the dead flowers beds
They're beginning to lose their heads.
The trees protesting against the wind
Soon I close my eyes and I feel like I am blind.

I can hear the thunder
And can feel the lighting
As it strikes the trees,
Squeaks of helpless woodland animals as they try and flee.

I just stand there
Still my eyes are closed as I try to block out my fear.
But it's no use.
The storm is winning, but still gives me its abuse.

I fall on my knees,
A tear drops and lands on a fallen tree.
I still don't feel sorry for myself.
It could be worse; I could have been struck by lightning and have melted.

I just like writing poems that rhyme about weather and seasons.
