Title: A Tribute To Our Hero

by Daniel from Staffordshire | in writing, poetry

I
I feel for your distant calling,
Lathering Gods buried in a sea of clouds and Champagne.
Will they feed us our sins?

II
The fissure in the sky heals all that is already cleansed
Will they yawn at our words?
Dusted by the chrome, feeble slaves.

III
As I enter the dripping wet,
Tainted by pine smelling waters
They are tantalised by one, for three more.

IV
It is licked by the backlash -- simple proof
And joins us in matrimony temptations.

V
'Still around' says the fool with aching bones
'Don't turn back' says the shadow, now locked away.
Maybe someday He will singe the confinements of these shackles.

VI
A rose from the corpses of memory
A twisted shard of languished interrogation,
Momentarily hacked the smiling shimmer,
Down flew the crash of sinking flights.

VII
Woven through foetal interpretations,
Simplified for those blinded by the dark,
It contradicts itself: The deceived breath. Just know that
the dream sprouted ' and was then frozen in time, doused by the subtle fuse.

VIII
A trinket, worn by Her ' crown. Deluded,
A surreptitious frown.
Fine edge of His rapier cut down the signs.

Initially, I intended to create a piece that was entirely 'free-writing' whereby I would convey my thoughts and feelings as they occurred. However, I found myself writing something that was quite personal and meant a lot to me which is why I enjoyed doing this so much, as a result I created the first piece that I titled 'War of two worlds' and it was only very recently that I altered some of the stanzas, putting together this final copy.
