Title: She sits there waiting

by Mark from Lancashire | in writing, poetry

She sits there waiting
I wish I could hold out my hand
I see a tear down her face
As she waits by the sand

I call out her name
But she can't hear a sound
I grasp at the air
As I fall to the ground

How I long for her skin
To brush along mine
How I long for her touch
How I long for the time

The girl on the beach
Oh she's waiting for me
She looks frustrated
As she looks out to sea

How I long to be with her
At this moment in time
I wish we didn't live in different worlds
I wish she was mine

But until that time when we meet again
I will sit on that sandy beach.
I'll look out to sea
As she looks for me
And I'll live a life in vain
For as long as I know that I'm in her heart
I'll wait forever
