Title: To all for whom the dark may plague
by Michael from Surrey | in writing, poetry
To all for whom the dark may plague
With thoughts that what is made is made,
To all whose lives seem plainly grave
In perfect, pure and proud men's shade:
We all have faults, be friend or foe,
But through those faults can true peace flow;
Like butterflies in birth do show,
From horrid shells can beauty grow!
Though painted smiles on men of fame
May gain them pride and vain acclaim,
Within that tame and handsome frame
Burns not a proud and perfect flame
But fear, the same as you or I,
That lives are judged by what we buy.
Instead, rise now with humble pride
And show that light which shines inside
Each boy, each girl, each breathing man,
Each class, each tribe, and every clan;
The light of freedom, light of man '
And hope to show the world we can!
Forget your wealth; let quarrels cease
And end oppression now in peace,
Make this world perfect piece by piece,
May light of man now be released.
As butterflies which stay concealed
Inside those cold and callous shields,
We too must break this sorry seal!
From dark may beauty be revealed.
The inspiration for this comes from a desire to inspire others, to tell people to never give up and that, as Mark Titchner says, ""If You Dont Like Your Life, You Can Change It""
